Not sure what a Deltoid is but I can tell you this. The corporate culture is slowly changing at most Airlines. Deltoid today might not be a Deltoid over the next few years. Legacy carries have A LOT of movement and with that movement we are seeing a lot of changes. Don’t rule out Delta just because of some reputation rumor you heard. I’m yet to meet an unhappy Delta pilot (recently hired one ).

I know many good people who have gone to Delta and I've met some cool Delta pilots in my travels. (One of them may or may not have even let a friend of mine try out his flight director in cruise... ;)) More power to anyone who wants to go to Delta, I just know that I'm not one for them. Not sure why that upset people who don't even work there so much. |

He said he wanted to stay in ATL (commute to Spirit) for less money and didn’t want to go to Delta (live in base) for more money because he thinks Delta guys are A-holes. Every airline has A-holes. Go to the one that you don’t have to commute for if the pay is acceptable. Or go to the big money even if it means a commute if that’s your fancy. Commuting for less money is just dumb. If they don’t hire you that’s different but based on culture, really? |

I'd like to make the next step of my career, the last. It needs to happen in the next few months. So long as the upgrade isn't another 10 years, I'm game for what ever. Lasted 10 years as a regional FO before my CA number was pulled. I'm sure I could do 5-6 at a major. I totally get your point though. It's all relative these days. We've all got our own little plans in our mind. It’s funny to hear Delta rumors from outsiders. You’d think we played seriousness contests and ironed our underwear. I assure you, it’s quite the opposite. I’m not sure what your conformity issues are either; fly like the book says. It’s the same anywhere you go. Except here they make you wear a hat. |
