At first glance it looks like Spirit is using a tiny fraction of their new tax savings to give you guys a minuscule increase in compensation.

I'm sure someone will come along soon and run the numbers but the run rate of your new contract ought to account for the companies huge windfall due to the tax relief.

Don't be afraid to vote no, the sun will continue to rise each morning. Delta and SWA both voted down the first TA and have much higher rates and are both printing cash. Good luck!

You guys realize you can vote this turd down right? The longer this goes on the harder it will be to staff the airline. Grow a spine and VOTE NO to substandard pay. I am a B6 guy and if they came at me with anything remotely like what yours sounds like I would be getting my strikin' boots all polished up.

United 2nd year A320 FO pay in 2019 = 140.17........just sayin.

United 5th year A320 FO pay in 2019 = 172.03.........just sayin.

You could be six months or less from losing your medical. Our current contract pays you for 2 yrs and then you are screwed so I hope you have other skills and it was capped at $10k which was hard to get with our current pay rates. Now it would go to a $15k cap and is paying til 65. That’s a big big deal. Bendo was willing to give it before but wanted to steal it from healthcare. We got both.

We are so exposed to eternal stagnation with our current scope it’s not even funny. I’m hoping we got big gains there. These were the main topics and pbs over the last few months

Agree with you 100%. Big gamble at our current rates and benefits.

Southwest and Delta were at much higher pay and bennies already so turning it down wasn’t as big a risk.

Who knows when next 911 or economic downturn or merger while we dick around for a how much more.

Wonder how they really plan to compete with the big 6 once hiring really ramps to full scale everywhere.

They truly only need to compete with the regionals for 1500 CFIs. These guys can stay a few years and move on.

We’re dealing with Spirit management, not Southwest or Delta’s. There are definitely big gains here from the last company offer. Taking this offer vs spending another 12 months trying to negotiate a bigger bump in pay rates (using another year of negotiating to make the numbers easy to digest) would cost a 3nd year FO $30,000 and a 3 year captain just over $60,000 in missed strait pay alone. I can guaranty that will not be made back in any form of retro. Not to mention the lack of scope protection, 401k contribution, if you were to medical out or if the next economic downturn happens in that period.

Damn right. The only problem is say we do vote no as we probably should. We won't see another TA for a least a year with no guarantee of how much higher we can get the pay rates and without any retro. Also as the moderator told us this is the biggest "raise" in the history of the RLA or something to that extent I can't remember so she seems to be pretty satisfied with the compensation part of the agreement. Another year of negotiations could yield almost no gains for us on top of lost wages and security this TA provides. So it's a risk vs reward game for sure since the moderator is definitely corporate friendly vs union friendly.

Smells like fear.

Which brings me back to the fact that some regionals offer better first year compensation and similar second year if you consider the short upgrade at regionals. So for someone that may just stick around for two years may still consider a regional. Now if you got stuck somewhere for much longer then 2 years obviously spirit is the place to be over a regional.

You will get a raise. Then the company will be able to staff, *poof* there goes your leverage.

They can't outsource your flying. You are already among the lowest paid 320 pilots in the industry, who could they hire to undercut you in this environment?
