This and all the small things start to add up. Like the ability to make us sit around the airport if they think they may need us to cover extra flying... I've never heard of something like that. If they want to reassign me that's fine but build some protections into it and make the language black and white. If they don't know if they are going to need me before I'm off duty that's not my problem and I'm going to the hotel. Also the change in long stay vs short stay hotel language. I don't want to sit at some Holiday Inn express across the street from the airport for 18 hours. I did that at my regional and it was terrible. Add in the inability to drop reserve days and all these little nitpicky things along with all the big things we've given them (PBS/losing transition conflicts) and it's not a good deal.

I get that we are negotiating and it's give and take but I just feel like we are giving away the farm for pay that is still sub industry average, a direct match that is lacking at DOS, LTD that on paper looks good until you realize it's only 5k a month unless you pay more and it's pretty obvious to me. Lots of us came here for the QOL. We are giving a good amount of that away with this TA in my opinion.

No matter how long it takes it will be worth it. Unless you're retiring in the summer and just want the signing bonus.

You absolutely do not know this. Nobody does.

You're right no one knows. But what I do know is I'd rather keep my 18 days off, conflicts, and the ability to credit well over 100 hours if need be. I like the nice hotels and solid schedule integrity. I'd rather keep going than work under this proposed TA. I can make money if I need to and I can sit at home and drink beer all month if I want to. I don't want to be worked and treated like a regional pilot just to make a few extra bucks.

not everyone gets conflicts so dont crucify those who cant take advantage of and actually want to make some money

You guys wonder why there is more money and less work rules?, look in the mirror. You and your (I credit over 100hrs every month) crowd are the reason for this lackluster TA. Some (maybe not you) have showed this mgmt time and time again you are willing to bendover for that sweet MUP.

Congrats, you got what you so desperately seek

I don't, I'm a conflict and work the rest of my schedule kind of guy. I commute so it's hard to really game the system but it's nice to know that when they come calling every month it's there if you need it.

You seem like a reasonable guy that has carefully weighed the options but what about being exposed with poor scope?

Are you not worried about that or maybe think the potential benefits outweigh the odds of something happening while we wait?

So are you saying it's lackluster or are you a yes voter? I feel like you're just trying to argue for the sake of arguing. I laid out some of the smaller points as to why I'm a solid no. I was willing to give them PBS and transition. I was not willing to give them everything they have for pay and retirement that isn't even industry average.
