Smarter industry analysts (multiple) are for sure we will see M&A attempts that will happen really soon. Much much sooner than 4-5yrs. Also oil prices have spiked 30% over a few short months (how long will it stay at these levels is the concern).

Many carriers F9, B6, NK, SW, Alaska, Hawaiian, United Continental are evaluating themselves & all long-term opportunities.
