Which Middle East carrier?

I'm not at liberty to say. However, you can go through each one and come up with a logical answer.

FYI, on APC "not at liberty to say" is a red flag for BS

Say what you will but the information I have is solid. I'm no longer at Spirit but have contacts and I consider this information very reliable. Notice the article today on Spirit about to put out RFP's for a new aircraft. It's all smoke and mirrors. This is a done deal.

Btw, SWA is very hot to trot to pick up used -800s so if there’s 50 of them sitting idle I’m sure they would have made a play for them as well....fwiw.

These wouldn’t be used. Allegedly another carrier decided on MAX’s instead. These would be unclaimed production slots. Allegedly.

How does this jive with the following article regarding Spirit flying to smaller, underserved markets:

https://airlinerwatch.com/spirit-airlines-to-buy-regional-jets-to-fill-the-gap-in-barely-served-routes/

I suppose it could be a smoke screen or a fake out, but a lot of smaller, midsized markets are underserved. Would 737-800s be used in those midsized markets?

The only Middle Eastern carrier that I know of that operates a sizable 737NG fleet is Flydubai and it has just started to receive new MAX replacements within the last 3-4 months. Not sure if they have 50 idle NG airframes but I could be wrong.

Yes, I am also very curious and looking forward to hearing the conference call and the “impending” order information as well...
