According to the manager of MX in PHL, a new AC order to add a new fleet type in the 319 size is a certainty this year. You know how rumors go.......

That would be about the last I would like to see. A321 at max gross:
Tailstrike magnet, Green dot 245kts, max recommended altitude FL320. That thing needs a bigger wing as it is. Also turn times are getting longer and longer with single aisle/narrow door and 230 pax. Yes, might work if they are planning bigger wing, still don't like the boarding part... |
Think the size would between the 757-200 and 757-300.

First of all management has a plan. Manufactures are bending over to sell Spirit aircraft. I ran into to Ted 2 weeks ago and he said Boeing is VERY VERY aggressively pursuing us. Buy 2 get one free is the current deal. They want us to swing to all 737. Airbus has already done their song and dance, we have orders now that go to 176 airframes. A200's? is what they are calling the C series now. ERJ190 Super Heavy? Spirit is currently crunching numbers! Stand by for the order. Ted said it's coming. He also clearly pointed out people get fired for getting this one wrong!

Ted said we picked up 7 more airframes (A320) that came available on the preowned market. I could be mistaken but I thought he said 127 airframes by the of end of 2018. Can someone double check the fleet plan? I could be mistaken...

If you have a copy of the fleet plan in 2017, you'll see we were supposed to resume delivery of NEOs in 2018 (55 total) When we switched from NEOs to CEOs, our final CEO airframe count went up (55 to 62) and NEO airframe count went down (55 to 48). Now we are back up to 55 NEO airframes and kept the 7 extra CEO airframes. |
Apparently Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier meet with the company few weeks ago. Boeing is offering buy 2 get 1 free, was confirmed by management. Highly doubt Spirit will pass on that deal....but they also could be playing Airbus.

But two get one free huh? I’m not saying you’re wrong but just seems a bit ridiculous that Boeing is now using the same sales tactics as a discount shoe store. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
