Only 4 upgrades in latest system bid?

I thought we were told 24 a month for the foreseeable future and now this latest bid has 4. Is this because of them needing bodies in seats for the busy summer season?

You actually believed what management told you? Must be new here...

I thought it was the union who said this.

Honestly I don’t know who said it but if it was the union they couldn’t have made that number up arbitrarily it would have come from the company. The company is now probably reacting to the new contract and ultimately we will need less pilots because of pbs. Personally it seems short sighted with summer coming, but what do I know?

Union said they expected a 90 day delay in an individuals upgrade time associated with the implementation of pbs. The question that they never gave an answer on was the effect of the change to transition prior to pbs. Now we know.

Nope. You're way off base. Has to do with summer staffing. Large number upgrades will resume after the high season. Likely September. 90 day hiatus associated with PBS implementation will happen at that time.

Along with the 737 order?

To clarify, 90 day hiatus on upgrades will happen next year when PBS is implemented. Not before.

I said 90 day delay with implementation of pbs. Did you miss that part? This slow down might be training department related for summer but also look at the reserve grid for May. They are realizing the staffing levels for the new transition language.

Sure, they spent the past 9 months prior to the new contract staffing up for an unknown variable. The staffing was already set to be higher. This didn't happen over 2 months.
