From everything I hear about Spirit, I’ll bet you guys have better flexibility than us. The only reason I posted above was to point out that we *can* trade with open time and straight drop, depending on the red/green situation.
Overall I like my schedule, but being a non-commuter helps as I don’t care as much when a trip starts or finishes. I fly middle of the week three day trips. The trips themselves are busy - two legs per day, and tend to start early and end late in the afternoon - but that’s a function of me requesting high value trips (19 hours or better). My ideal lazy month is 12 days of work for mid-70s credit, and if I want to make a little more I’ll pick up a turn or two.
I have about 4.5 years here and was originally an Airways guy, but as much as we like to ***** about our work rules (rightfully so), it honestly hasn’t been bad at all for me. That said, we have tons of room for improvement in the upcoming contract.

Thanks for the info.
I'm currently at PSA, almost 1k jet. While the flow is great to have in the back pocket, I dont want to just sit back and think I'll get my number called in 5-6 years.
These LCCs like Spirit seem to be offering quality schedule flexibility and great pay.
Granted it's not like anyone is knocking on my door to hire me.
I just dont want to apply somewhere that isnt great.

Many responses between your post and mine to show how narrowly you’re thinking about 100 percent drops.

Seriously?! Why do you care. Obviously you want to fly so you can improve your paycheck, thus you should be all for the ability to drop 100 percent; more honey in the pot.

You have a valid point. I don’t really want to fly more for more money. I want to fly the same for more money. I do think work rules are important. I just heard a lot of “I’m here for the work rules”. Which translates I’m willing to settle for less money to have a part time job. It’s all over so it doesn’t matter anyway

You’re saying why take wage or other QOL consessions to keep the ability to drop to zero, Or why not trade the 100 percent drop option for an improvement elsewhere. For some reason I mistakingly though you just were advocating letting it go.
Fair point- for me the ability to drop 100 percent of my schedule is extremely valuable, so there would have to be a massive carrot for me to let it go. I do however acknowledge that I am likely an outlier.

I appreciate that! All the best for you too - people getting good contracts is good for everyone. Hopefully we don’t disappoint this next time around.

Has everyone forgotten that y’all just voted in a Contract that took away this Schedule Flexiibility that you’re boasting about for a significant % of the Pilot group? Upon PBS implementation Reserves will only be able to Drop 1 Day per year and current Reserves are already handcuffed by the new CBA.
