B6 ta
Just a cursory review of the highlights of their AIP but it makes me wish I was in a blue bus rather than a yellow one right now. I hope for damn sure that this is our floor at the next go around. But given the apathy at NK I'm not sure we'll ever shoot for anything higher.
Good for B6, I hope it bodes well for them.

Just the nature of the collective bargaining beast... Frontier may one up us too when they get a TA.
But in the long run, if you can put your ego aside for a handful of years, it’s going to benefit us a lot that these groups keep raising the bar.

If they didn't at least match our contract it would be a problem. The fact that they have exceeded it is just how negotiations should be in our current labor market. The idea in negotiations is to one-up the other guy's contract, even if it were industry leading. The B6 guys accomplished that goal as measured against our TA and a few other contracts. Our goal should be to one-up their contract in our next negotiations cycle. So don't be butthurt. Be glad for them. Things are proceeding according to plan.

I'm shocked (not really) by you guys already arguing the only reason they are getting much more than us is "pattern based." I don't believe they even had transition, line bidding, or reserve drops to trade for it.

Scope seems very good compared to our unlimited outsourcing (with block hour floor protections), though I’ve only seen their bullet points
Pay may not actually be better when you factor in the 190. A 190 or any viariant of it would pay our airbus rates if we had it a Spirit. Same with the C-series. If you blend JetBlue’s current fleet into their new pay rates it’s not much better than us if it is. Throw in the fact that they could order a C-series or E-195 and stop ordering buses moving forward and the rates start looking really bad.
I think some of their work rules are better and some are worse. Not sure on specifics.

They'd be crazy to vote it down. Who knows what would happen then?

My point was that people are taking thier TA as an approved contract; it is not... Still needs to be voted upon.

Well Jetblue wouldn't even see the CS100/300 until around 2022 from what I've heard. JB is still a majority Airbus fleet with more orders on the way. A321LR announcement is probably coming up. The 190 pay is a problem, but it's industry leading even though JB is basically the only ones flying them...so not much you can do about it. It's a good airplane if you live in domicile and want qol. Luckily it's only about 25% of the entire fleet and getting lower.
JetBlue’s scope looks enviable though and I think they went to a calendar day credit instead of duty period which is great. 15% DC right off the bat is nice too. That was a big miss for us. Also the 4 year term instead of 5.
