what I'm saying is say you're R11 today. They already have a trip for you tomorrow at 1700, but they will not notify you right now, beause if they do, you're released and they lose you (in case something last minute happens and you're the only r11)

So they put NTY on your flica, and if you go to crewtrac, you can right click and view comments and see the trip. This way they "save" the trip for you and you can see what you're gonna get, without actually being notified.

Gotcha, I thought you were talking about the self notify option. My bad.

Default First Year FO reserves

ACY guy here (18 months reserve experience) 50/50 knowing your reserve assignment the day prior vs the 3 am wake up call from Miramar or the van leaves in 3 hours short call.

Seems to vary base to base and CA seat/FO seat.

Even better, DH out of Vegas with ACY crew, aaaaaaaand they ride the brakes all the way to 26R so we get to sit at the end for 45 mins instead of going home. Fun stuff.

Couple of things: Landing in vegas summer with autobrakes on means guaranteed 450 brake temps. That takes a LONG time to come down, even with brake fans (which half the time never show up). So for all you know they left the gate at 200c and that's very very easily climbing to 300 if you're taxiing two engines. Could've been 100% on the inbound crew and not the crew taking you home.

Don't forget also to suggest running APU bleed to reduce the EPR on the engines resulting in lower brake temps. It's a minute difference but some captains insist on it, so it must make a difference.
