I submitted app at 1AM, emailed the next morning with my requested day and place by literally just saying those words, they confirmed within 48 hours with 3 time choices, I picked one and 24 hours later was confirmed.

All I said in my email was “I recently applied and would like to attend on this date”

Don’t over complicate things.

I have hunch that they are vetting apps prior to getting back to you. It’s just a hunch, but I don’t know why they wouldn’t.

My email to them was almost like a cover letter. I didn’t just ask to get a slot etc. I gave information about myself, experience etc.

I’m not sure if that helped, but I know not everyone heard back so I’m thinking this may have helped.

I did the same thing too, type it as a cover letter with my background/experience. 2 hours later I got an email to choose dates so maybe they aren't vetting yet but idk, It could be that they weren't too busy at that time. But I'm super glad I got a slot.

I recently picked up a K8A with 65L, 65U and 53M, among other things.

Sorry, everybody, just a momentary emergency vehicle nerdfest, carry on.

I think that the 97XJ’s are better

Tried submitting a new app, and when it got to the end it said there are 2 more steps. Tax credit info and the evaluation. I had 2 apps already in the system and now those 2 are the only ones showing that I submitted? I figured one would be dated tonight but there is some glitch I assume. Anyone have any info?

Samething happens to me. For what’s its worth they have a new system rolling out the first of the year that’s supposed to make it easier to update stuff.

Oh, oh! What’s this tax credit thing? I did not see anything about a “tax credit” or “evaluation” being needed at the end of my app. It just said thank you for applying.

Is that good or bad?

Check your email. They will send the Tax info there as well as your invite to do the Gallup Test.

PICsf340 11-04-2018 05:39 AM

Gallup test

How long does it typicall take to hear something after taking the Gallup? I have heard if they don’t like the results, you get a TBNT pretty quick.

If you don’t pass the Gallup/they don’t like you. You won’t hear anything back... at least that’s how it used to be.

How long did it take for you to hear back? I’ve got the type, current 121 and have a Meet the Chiefs next week.

When applying, do y'all have to press "Next" on the information pages 5+ times for each new page?

hahaha I'm "that" dude for sure. I remember having these problems in the past, but it seems like there's got to be a better way to do this.

I'd apply to F9. Their new hires are about to make 10 or 15 bucks more an hour and the upgrade will be faster.

They are rolling out a new system first of the year.

PotatoChip 11-06-2018 01:33 PM

I press “next” through four separate pages of identical “present employer” pages. Nothing I can do to change it.

Don't accidentally submit a very incomplete app by hitting refresh, either.

Yeah I finished the app recently yet the system shows the last submitted one was in July. As an outsider this is one issue most of the airlines have is a poor application process.

korg128 11-11-2018 03:48 PM

So I completed an application the other day. Did the tax benefit right after. It has been 24hrs though now and no Gallup assessment. * I also after it was done just reread my initial info and changed one field ( recommended by) is this the reason for no Gallup or does that not come on weekends as someone needs to click a button. Don't know if I need to just send a whole fresh application. ??
For the record currently under submitted applications it does not list the most recent completion I'm mentioning above...

Yes same thing for me. Most recently submitted is not showing as submitted.

korg128 11-12-2018 05:48 AM

Did you get the gallop test portion or no?

No not since the first time I applied a few applications ago

I'm of the understanding that you have to take gallop test once a year, so it would be good for two application cycles.

korg128 11-12-2018 06:38 PM

Interesting. Though still the application is not showing submitted per submission a few days ago.
I was asked specifically if I had filled out an application at the meet the chiefs event recently. I said yes prior and received a no thank you around Fe. Now having resubmitted an application ( I also mentioned this) but no gallop as of yet. Hope this doesn't hose me out of a technicality of the website??

SkyJunky 11-14-2018 12:30 PM

I haven't seen anyone post an update on hiring status on this thread for a few days, so I apologize if its mentioned and I overlooked it.

At 'Meet the Chiefs', the CPs mentioned that they have 30 guys in the pool for training. Training is full through February. Will start to send invites for interviews after Thanksgiving. Anticipating 170 upgrades to captain in 2019.

How long would it take a new hire to hold FLL?

Last system bid Award shows two new hires got FLL right out of the gate. The rest got ACY.

My class earlier this year had everyone in their first choice straight of training (and we had people going to every base but Chicago) except maybe Detroit which took one extra month.
Don't sweat the NH bases too much. Things change so often especially once hiring picks up again that there's no reason to even worry about this.
Realistically speaking, unless you're in the pool now, the earliest you'll even be able to get out of training would be early-mid summer. No one knows what the vacancy will look like then, but whatever base you want shouldn't take more than a few months max.

If you're ok with commuting or live on/near the lEast coast, take a good look at the ACY seniority list. Less than a year after hiring, a guy in my class was in the top 20% there and was getting pretty much whatever schedule he wanted. There's a balance there, between commuting and getting your preferred line pretty much every month.

I added a Spirit profile, but the only job that comes up in their search function is the Base Chief Pilot for Orlando. And I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not me. Any idea when First Officer applications will be open again, or am I just not smart enough to operate the Spirit Careers website?

Everyone expects it to be posted sometime after the new year.

We have to staff this airline until then.

No everyone doesn't. When was the last time the Board had a meeting? If it was on the Horizon as you say Wall Street would know and the Stock would reflect the business change. Fact is we have Pilots running around make stories up. F9 used a common part number and it's yellow so it's a merger. You're claim of just after the new year? What year??? Ask a Board member if you want to know not a line Pilot.
