Is spirit still hiring? If so how many a month and how long can new hires expect to be on reserve. Seems like class dates have slowed down quite a bit, but didnt know if that was due to the holidays up and coming. What is the current upgrade time as it stands to date. Always changing I know, but best honest guess

Easy... you obviously cared enough to read the post... or just give me crap. Either way made me chuckle a bit. Was just looking for some firm answers to the questions rather than best guesses or if anyone knows of December or January class dates yet and how many new hires.

28 new hire in October, we don’t know what is planned for November until the next vacancy is posted. Most of us don’t know how many have been hired that are waiting for a class date.

Hiring 40/ mo.. since the contract, there is no shortage of applications mins have been raised from 2k to 3k but I would guess 4-5k to be competitive. Upgrades vary month to month, we still have around 50 aircraft on the order book yet to be delivered with rumors for an impending order. Hiring and upgrades will continue. Reserve depends on the base but in general assume 6-10 month reserve. Upgrade is around the 3 yr mark +/- a few months

No we haven't and won't be for quite some time. Starting in November is slated for 10/month all the way to April. We have a pool to fill all those classes. Subject to change of course.

So that is why I posted the questions. Great info by everyone and appreciate the responses but which is true on the amount currently being scheduled for initial a month. Is it really 40 or 10? Thanks in advance

Don’t listen to most that is posted on here and obviously people being either positive or very bitter. We will not stop hiring for quite a while. Classes might be slowing down a bit but will definitely pick right back up. Despite of what is being said here, no one knows for sure what the actual numbers are until we get to see them. We have 122 airframes and 55 more on current order. That will yield plenty of hiring. Upgrades will definitely depend on next order. Hopefully we will hear something in the next few months. Rumors are out there but until there is a firm order, it means nothing. Any base is obtainable within a decent time frame (even MCO went more junior than I expected) and reserve might be a month or 6-12 depending on base and growth in that base. If your truly are interested in coming here, the wait will be negligible in the grand sceme of things and just something to deal with you’re first year. Good luck and I hope your times are competitive and you will be able to visit the next “meet the chiefs”. That seems to really help.

I think the email said SLC, DEN and LAX are the cities. (Not 100% on LAX, going off memory)?

I have no idea how you get an invite. From what I know, it’s basically an interview and job offer could be offered at the end.

Email from RR gave an address for current pilots to email if they know somebody interested.

How does one sign up for the meet 'n greet? I sent a message to the e-mail address. I haven't heard anything back since yesterday.

According to Spirit's social media page, you just email them and say which event you want to attend.

So basically this could be an
interview and get a CJO?

I don’t believe so. It’s a “we like this person bring him/her in for a full interview” type situation I believe. I could be wrong though.

Is it a first come first serve basis or should I have included a resume in my email requesting information for the Atlanta event? I sent the email out to them on Friday and never heard anything back. :confused:

Was it an either/or for the day, or did they assign the day? I can't make both days for any of the events, but could probably make one.

I got the email confirmation for Atlanta on the 10th. Hope to see you all there.

It took me 3-4 days to hear back. Once I did, I was asked what Day and Time I wanted. It then took another day for the official “your confirmed” email.

I have hunch that they are vetting apps prior to getting back to you. It’s just a hunch, but I don’t know why they wouldn’t.

My email to them was almost like a cover letter. I didn’t just ask to get a slot etc. I gave information about myself, experience etc.

I’m not sure if that helped, but I know not everyone heard back so I’m thinking this may have helped.

I got an invite to Atlanta. My latest app was submitted prior to the OBAP job fair (june?), should I submit a new one prior to attending the "meet the chiefs" event?
