Bumped into a friend of mine at Delta who just made the switch to the CSeries for a better schedule and said it was the easiest airplane he had ever flown and he has no intention on leaving it as the fleet continues to grow....

Time will tell if Spirit orders it. Would make sense to do a combo deal with Airbus for a mix of A220s and A321Neos. If it happens, it would also make sense to announce it at the Paris Air Show this week.
Really? No intentions on leaving that plane. I bet wide-body pay would make him leave the A220 someday.

Sorry, but no. It’s completely dependent on your situation. Same is true for a new base opening. It’s gonna benefit some and disadvantage others.

New fleet types and more bases will benefit a few but there is no doubt it will dilute the relative seniority of most. Fewer bases with a large amount of flying on a single fleet give the most flexibility and further down the seniority list. Obviously if you live in a city with a new base opening your qol will improve drastically over commuting but it’s not good for the group as a whole.

Saw a Spirit painted Airbus without engines in Shannon, Ireland yesterday. Is that where they paint them? It had no engines.

Yes, I agree about more flexibility with 1 type vs 2. But relative seniority would stay the same on the whole, some go up some go down.

Can one go down in relative seniority with one fleet type? 🤔

Fair point...
However, this thread is about a possible plane order. And if a mixed fleet is the result, the impact on one’s seniority would be diluted vs. remaining a single fleet. Especially if part of that order is a replacement for some of our aging aircraft and not in addition to.
