Upcoming interview

Hey guys I’ve got an upcoming interview At first I was lukewarm about it but its been a rough couple months on home life (divorce) and im ready to step into the bus now ive told everyone a bit about my background before so I wont again

I do have a few question regarding my app: first I have a couple busted check rides and a couple speeding tickets all of which happened well over two years ago so im not worried but how should I get around telling the board i dont have any

Also I was flying part 91 on the side while at silver to supplement income which ultimately led to me not being home much which ultimately lead to me getting divorced which ultimately is why I’m just getting back in my feet but to my point I was flying 91 and we crossed an active in lakeland the other day and now ive got a pending letter. nothing should come of it but theres no way a chief doing an interview would know this right? Unless he is buds with that rat bastard in the klal tower

I’m looking forward to joining spirit it hasn’t always been my goal but it is now and I am very grateful to be headed to training in fll in a few months any idea what base is easiest to commute out of gnv?

Drive to MCO easiest option by far. Tell them everything in interview, including the LAL thing. They find out after the fact you could get the boot half way through training for being less than fully honest

Thats good advice I should just be honest I am just worried i won’t get the job because of it

as far as the commute goes I dont have a car right now ive got to uber to gnv because my ex took the car in the divorce so I would love to eventually get to mco base but thats too expensive right now and I can’t move just yet because im locked on a leese for 10 more months now. Once I get into second year pay at spirit most of these problems go away I’ll pick up a ride. So for now I’ve got Miami Atlanta and clt as options I’m thinking Miami won’t help get my to fll because theres no high speed rail yet but if I get to atlanta I’ve got options. I am going to use my story of not having a car turned into a positive because it shows grit and determination that’s my grit story and I think the board will eat it up

I don’t say too much on here but I’m sorry, I have to respond to this. Multiple check ride failures and speeding tickets that you don’t want to admit too in an interview and a pending violation you received while at the minimum breaking a company policy and probably breaking other FAR’s involving rest and duty, I hope you never set foot in a Spirit cockpit.

Well ive already stepped foot in one haha the problem is I was a jump seat rider and not a co pilot but seriously I came here seeking advice not to get brutally attacked and questioned. I wasn’t going to not admit my tickets I just wasn’t going to volunteer if they didn’t ask you catch my tailwind? Anyways I’m sure most would agree with the first poster that honesty is best so that’s what I will do

Hey, we all deserve second chances. Life happens.

I was involved in hiring at a previous airline. I would think Spirit has the same philosophy. Hiding something = automatic no. Being honest about everything and explaining how you learned from it is a good thing.

Silver02ex 03-05-2019 06:09 AM

Do you guys really think his posts are real? If it is, do you really want to fly with this guy?

Am also being considered by Frontier now with their big contract. I have a hot pan on the Moxy table too but that’s a while away but man I really missed the boat not getting on with spirit back in the day. How senior would I be if I was hired in spring of 2016? Like 40% captain in FLL? Anyways just looking for some tips on what I could do I’ve gotta get out of silver and it seems without a degree the legacies won’t touch me. I’m working on one with Everglades it’s taking time but I’ll have it soon then I will take calls from legacy but for now I need to get somewhere. I was talking w some frontier guys on there board and they told me the bus would be an easy plane to fly even though I was worried it seems they calmed me down and I could learn it. I interveiwed with that Chief pilot in FLL that blinked a lot probably a nervous twitch

I’ve come across a lot of good guys at spirit some not so good but I dont let the bad guys ruin it for me we’ve got our own rotten eggs at silver. Their is about 30-40 guys no one wants to fly with. I’ve got 8 letters of rec at spirit I hope it’ll help my chances. Got the foot in the door just gotta keep it open so I can get all the way onto property haha

Halon 1211, split personalities are fun for you. Keep the laughs coming.

IWalkJun12 03-05-2019 12:51 PM

Are you still employed at Silver? What base?

putzin 03-05-2019 12:53 PM

Do you have a dog named "lucky"? Or a cat that's been run-over 8 times?

I'll say this, I know guys with fewer busts, letters and tickets that were not hired. Maybe pre-contract you would have had a shot, but I'd be surprised, unless of course you're related to Ted, pasta Bob or Sandie(y). Are you?

I am still employees of course but I’m out on medical I needed some time off with the divorce so I took some leave when I come back I am not sure where I will be based I still need to track down a car but hopefully I’ll be in training with spirit so it won’t matter my goal is to not go back to requal with silver

Im not related but i wouldn’t be opposed to getting personal with sandie if it got me a job lol just a little divorcee humor there guys I’ll get the job on my own merritt don’t worry

This is all very troll-y but let’s say it’s not. Let’s say these posts are very genuine and honest. What kind of knucklehead goes ahead an says these very specific details about their background on a forum that Spirit management knowingly follows very closely? The title of this thread should be “I don’t work at Spirit but if I wanted to make sure I didn’t, this is how I would do it.”

You should read my Christmas special post a couple winters back before the contract.

Man, take it from a person who’s been to 3 airlines and multiple airline interviews. You disclose everything!! Even when they ask you if you have anything else to disclose. They will pull your PRIA, and background check any discrepancy you will get the axe in training (happened to me over an undisclosed PRIA issue). Honestly, I don’t know how you got a call if you have a check ride bust about 2 years ago, because on the spirit App online in your profile you’re suppose to disclose them and violations (pending as well) on your spirit profile... please fix your issues and save your troubles.

He’s doing a great job making sure Silver guys are vetted pretty hard. Maybe that’s his angle, doesn’t want Silver guys coming here for some reason.

So a guy with training failure from 2 years ago can’t get hired at Spirit?

Airlines need to be more specific and relevant when they ask about check ride failures. I know someone who didn’t get hired at a regional because they had a checkride failure from a glider checkride. Just seems a little silly to me.

First off I doubt any management is on these forums if they are then I think they need to disperce there attention elsewhere like customer service. Secondly ive talked with emerald and I’m confident I can work around the checkride fails if I come clean. One of them happened over 7 years ago because the examiner didn’t like the rolling mag check I did to save time but given the opportunity to explain to spirit I’m sure they’d like the story because it shows i can save the company long term. Second one was a little more cut and dry but one bust isnt bad considering spirit has a high wash out rate of training anyways

BeechedJet 03-06-2019 08:39 AM

You heard it here first folks, management doesn’t read these forums. Phewwww, that was a close one.

You are clueless if you don’t think they read these forums. Check out the 2017 TRO. Besides, why would you want to work here after insulting the pilot group with this:

“Whatever man. I’m not gonna work here anyways. You guys have shown your true colors enjoy your toys r us contract and working for cents on the dollar. I‘ll be laughin when I’m at the legacys and you and your mates are stuck flying the poors”

Lol well a lot has changed since then besides I was jaded from a previous interview but am really happy to becoming back to fll for a job trust me if I didnt want to be at spirit I wouldn’t have applied and asked my connections to help

This trolling is so bad, it makes ATC Memes seem funny.

RonnyK320 03-06-2019 11:37 AM

You need to learn how to use punctuation. It's pathetic an airline pilot (or wanna be airline pilot) doesn't have an understanding of basic grammar at this point in their life.

When Spirit’s upper managment team has their Monday morning 10AM meetings the last item of business is to show funny clips of what has been posted on APC for some good laughs to start off the week.

I wonder who has the most post that have been used?

That’s true. The TRO didn’t have any quotes from APC.

I was being sarcastic. You would think by now everyone would know that management reads or gets told about this board when they need to. But apparently not. And even though I know that this James white guy is probably a troll, I’m not risking it. I’ve called and made sure they are watching for certain Silver guys. Shouldn’t be too difficult, even if he talks twice as good as he writes, he still probably sounds like he has a dick in his mouth.

Dude what is you’re problem why would you do that it’s not like I’m gonna be going thru training with you if I get the job and pass bus training then I’m good enough to fly with you I bet your a former eastern scab and someone from a bologna airline like contour who hasn’t cut his teeth in metal like I have in this industry. Whatever. I’m going to stay off these boards for the time being because I’m not sure what’s what I’m just going to call emerald to smooth out my flow and get my tell me about a time storys straight

BeechedJet 03-07-2019 11:35 AM

Of all the things he gets right, he spells bologna properly.

I don’t know what your talking about but bologna is an easy one. My mom always said Bo Log Na and pronounced it really phonetic so it stuck I like to think every time I’m in the sky touching her she’s making me a fried bologna sandwhich. Little bit of mayo extra tomatoes and onions and get this, a dash of old bay. Try it some time and thank me later
