What’s the average attrition at Spirit per month? Do the majority of pilots have their apps out at the legacy’s?

I don’t believe we have any attrition at Spirit after the contract. Maybe once in a while. We have very few retiring.

Attrition has ground to essentially a halt since the contract. Some of the junior pilots (myself included) keep an app or two open but the vast majority of folks are planning to be here for the long term.

Attrition is low because they do a great job at hiring those that probably can’t leave.

Attrition might be low because maybe we actually like working here. I've talked to plenty that have no interest working for a legacy, skeletons or not. In fact I hear all the time from jumpseaters how they like our crews and we are not a bunch of grumps plowing through a 4 day.

People didn’t even know the old contract when it had been around for nearly 8 years.... what makes you think they’d read and comprehend something new?

This right here. If AA or United calls it wouldn’t be a sure bet I’d leave. I like it here. I like the culture. And that goes a long way.

Sure, I could go to delta and make more money, but chances are I’d be miserable. Income is not my end all, be all. I’d much stay here and help this a better place.

I think everyone says this until Delta calls.

Culture???!!! Hilarious. Culture changes at every airline year by year. Culture also doesn’t put kids through college or buy a new boat. Delta pilots are buying each just with profit sharing checks. Some pretty expensive culture we’re buying here.

Yeah, have to chuckle a little when when people cite "culture" as a reason to stay. If you've ever been anywhere else you'd realize we don't have much of a culture. We have a good group, but I don't work here for friends, I like hanging with my family instead.

That said, I'd leave for Delta in a flash, except I'm getting too old and I'm VERY COMFY, let's call it complacent, where I'm at.
