What about all these Holiday Inn’s. I feel like I’m back in the regionals. DTW, EWR, and DEN. Just to name a few that come to mind.

Gawd finally. My thrice weekly urban steak has drained both my funds and my expectations for hotel steaks.

Ah, the reason we gave up the 15 hour long stay for the short stay, guys complaining about a chartered private vehicle and rather enjoy waiting on a hotel shuttle that “RUNS ON THE 30'S”.
Rosemont is as much of a “metropolitan area” and Queens was for our NY long stay finally was straightened out. You’re view of “once you seen it a few times” reminds me why most AA hotels are in the suburbs by a shopping mall. If nothing else, get out an walk around. It’s not always “stupid cold”. We don’t stay at the MSP short all year because it’s “stupid cold,” or DTW. At least for the majority of hotels, if not Rosemont. The language from 16:45 to 13:45 (18:00 to 15:00) was a huge give away. Not the Unions fault. Gotta find compromises when only 10% of the pilot group can locate a picketing event. I enjoy taking a 4:30am van for a 5:15 show. Who doesn’t want to show up 15 minutes early for a 12 hour duty day? Don’t show up at 4:30 it left at 4:22. Unless you tried the 5am van, that one will leave about 5:10 to make you feel nice and rushed in a dark cockpit.
Cap it off with a 30 minute wait at the end of the day, angry angry taxi cab ride and a reimbursement. Call it the new normal short stay routine.... |

Then you can at least say that you voiced your concerns ahead of time when you call out fatigued for dealing with all of these shenanigans. |

Cabs love it when you hop in and say "take me to the hotel around the corner." I mean, not that I care, you're a cab driver, you drive, but always an issue. I had one try and refuse and I had to mention that I would be forced to report him to the airport for refusing a fare..he took us. But I agree, not something anyone wants to deal with after a 12 hour day. And if any shuttle runs on the 30s, thats a straight walk to the cab stand for me from the terminal. Company wants this, this is what they get. |
I forgot what hotel it was, last month I was at with a shuttle that only runs on the hour. Yeah that was awesome.
