I’m leaving a pretty cush 91 gig to fly at Spirit. Starting 3/16 and can’t wait to be done with corporate. Good friend of mine is former QS (12 years) and now at Spirit. No regrets from him.

I was flying with an ex corporate guy the other day and during boarding there was a passenger flipping out over something and we had to wait for gate agents and flight attendants to sort it out. I commented that times like these must make him miss flying corporate pax, and he said “oh they were every bit as awful, just had a lot more money in the bank, and now I no longer have to get involved with their little hissy fits”. He seemed pretty happy here as well. Welcome to the team.

Thanks! I’ve been personal witness to many grown man childish hissy fits. I’ve seen a pax scream at the poor girl behind the counter at the FBO for something she had no part in. Been cussed myself for the catering being wrong. I won’t miss it one bit.

Been “cussed” out (not really, just snide comments) for having turbulence, Good landings, bad landings, snacks for purchase, someone thinking there were too many PA’s, PA’s too loud, too quiet, too hot too cold (same flight, different people), and not deicing beofre we boarded (yeah, cuz its normal to type IV and AC during a snowstorm as it sits at the gate empty, lol). Some people you just cant please no matter what. Some people always just feel the need to complain about something they have no expertise in (like the lady who yelled at me for the “delay” we caused by deicing after boarding instead of before) Plane was 17 mins early though so what do I know. Smh.

I recently flew on spirit with family, and had to check a bag. 22 mins after the door opened at the gate is when the bags came, some guy in baggage claim was litterally yelling and screaming at the baggage office guy about the wait after banging on the glass of the office for 5 mins. He wasnt even in baggage claim for 10 mins before losing his mind. We were 25 mins early to begin with!!! He had his bag before we were due to block in.
20 mins from block in to baggage claim is the standard time for getting bags quick most airlines try for, and impressive if you ask me. It takes at least 15 to unload them with a moderate load, so thats only 5 mins travel to carousel from the plane.
Thats just the last few years. But, on average, almost never have to deal with or hear anything. Compared to 91/Corporate, or normal customer service industry jobs, 121 flying is very much less involved as there are so many workgroups already there for this stuff and everything is relatively streamlined.

I’m an FO at NetJets, trying to decide if it’s worth coming to Spirit. My only issue is the closest base to me is ACY and I would have to commute into PHL and find a way over to ACY or 2 leg it to DTW.

That's miserable. Don't come here for that. Where do you live?

Nope. Not worth it if you’re not planing on moving later. Sounds to me like you’re living in a very small town, would BWI be accessible to you? Maybe Frontier would be a better match with that PHL base.
