Seems to me there are two scenarios where the company is obligate to convert sick time to MGP as it pertains to the 'Rona and the MOU. You don't actually have to test positive for the virus. As long as you're directed by someone official (in language below) to quarantine, that's enough to trigger the MGP status. I don't see anything that requires a positive test to qualify.
  1. Any pilot who is non-symptomatic, but who is directed by any Company, medical, or governmental personnel, or any governmental or legal order, to receive medical evaluation, treatment, or quarantine based on concerns, conditions or events related to COVID-19shall be placed in a Management Removed Paid ("MGP") status (i.e., the pilots' trips will be dropped and pay-protected)for the duration of the evaluation, treatment, or quarantine.
  2. Any pilot who displays symptoms of COVID-19 shall call in sick. If the pilot is diagnosed with COVID-19, the pilot will be placed on MGP status for the duration of any resultant medical treatment or quarantine, and any credit hours deducted from his or her sick bank owing to his or her illness shall be restored.

You are correct but only in scenario number 2 is your sick bank reimbursed.

am I missing the point? Scenario 1- no sick time is used, so what would need to be reimbursed?

1- you feel fine but are directed to quarantine, etc as a precaution.... removed from trip- pay protected....

2- you’re sick.... call in sick- if happens to be Corona, sick time is reimbursed...

So based on the first scenario, if a doctor says you need to quarantine, say for a pre existing condition that could be impacted by Covid 19, you should be pay protected....however, in the MOU for VIL it addressed taking a personal LOA if you have a concern over Covid 19 and any direct threats to you or your family. Per the MOU, the personal loa would be awarded, but you would lose pay. Seems contradicting

Well I'm in scenario #1, my wife was diagnosed with it (she's fine), so I was told to call out sic and quarantine. Now I'm waiting for my sick time to be reimbursed. They wouldn't pay protect me right then and there, and I really didn't expect them to. The latest email I got was they are backed up and will review my case when they get to it.

again, that’s contradicting to what the company said. Who told you to call out sick?

Don't worry, I will if it's not accepted as part of the MOU. Thanks.

I’m surprised they haven’t offered more in ACY. We currently have one morning MCO turn for April, I doubt May will be much more, not sure it’s worth doing the VILs.....
