Maybe we can start a sub group where guys we can go in and chat with guys like elmetal and get prescriptions and virtual doc visits right off APC. Seems like you are in good company el, there are hundreds of guys here overflowing with this knowledge about how this outbreak really works and how to contain it.

What’s ironic about your rant is that the expert epidemiologists and virologists haven’t known much about this, got it wrong initially, still don’t know a whole lot about it, are still disagreeing on things, and are constantly learning about this thing. All/most of their knowledge is being shared and is available publicly, and since news coverage and social media coverage is 99.69% about this, a lot of lay people have actually learned about it. Also, many of us have doctor friends who are intimately involved with treating covid patients and have some pretty good sources of info. To dismiss people having dialogue about the virus, and how we as a nation/world should proceed, etc., because we aren’t epidemiologists, is disingenuous and lacking in critical thinking, logic, and common sense. At the end of the day the president, governors, and business owners will take the advice and information from the “experts,” look at the latest data, and make a decision on how to proceed, and we can sit and throw spears as we see fit and continue to debate it. Meanwhile private companies will continue researching treatments and vaccines. And we can talk about that too. Even if we aren’t medical/drug research scientists. Shocking concept...I know.

Now look what you’ve done! You wrote calmly and lucidly, with an overhead perspective, and some rational inputs, and you’ve shut this b!tchfe$t down. The nerve of some people…

Online and mail-in voting sure sound simple and easy but they are a gateway for systemic voter fraud.

If you can't be bothered to show up on election day to vote, maybe you just shouldn't vote.

(Yes, I know he was pot-stirring, but I'll bite)

I'll take the bite as well. This has never been a country that is about keeping it the way we've always done it. We didn't become the greatest country in the world by being stuck in our ways. We innovate, we progress. We see flaws in a process and view them as opportunities to make it better, and hopefully earn a buck in the process.
The right to vote, in fair and free elections, is the single most important component of our democracy. Politicians control the methods for how we vote and for 250 years they have, for the most part, resisted changing the system as they were fearful of the political consequences.
I am lucky enough to live in one of the five states that has taken a more modern, convenient, and fair approach and has instituted mail in voting. It's awesome! You're mailed a ballot weeks before the election and it couldn't be easier to complete and send off. There has been no evidence of fraud, no complaints about voter suppression and leaves the citizens with little to no excuses for failing to vote.
So don't give me the tired horse crap hypothetical argument of "Gateway for systemic voter fraud". Utah, arguably the most red state in the country, votes by mail as does Washington, one of the bluest states and neither have had any evidence of fraud (Nor did Colorado, Hawaii or Oregon).

I’d rather it take some sort of effort on the part of the voter to have their voice heard. If standing in line, along with early voting is to much of a burden then no voting for you.

And show some form of ID so we know they are actual citizens of the U.S.
Who is collecting the mail at the nursing homes and mental institutions filling out those mail in votes?
Voter fraud exists even with the current system: Last election a polling location in Michigan fed more democratic votes through the machine than there was registered voters

Actually that's complete propaganda. They did not experience more votes than registered voters. Even the headline is ridiculous, given that on a high voter turn out year less than 60% of Americans vote. The idea that there are people that actually believed that more votes were cast than registered voters is not the proudest moment in this Countries history.
What happened in Michigan was the poll workers, who manually counted voters as they checked in, their count didn't match the electronic voting machine receipt count. It was quickly determined that it was sloppy recording and no evidence of fraud or wrong doing.

Those poll workers in a heavily democrat area fed those machines over and over with democrat voted ballot. The vote count from that machine showed a higher count than there were registered voters in that precinct. That's when the media found out and they were busted. Didn't matter Trump had a nice lead in Michigan anyway. He will destroy Biden with his alzheimers unless there is fraud. Where's the me2 movement with the allegations against him?

A thinking man might make the correlation between one group’s drive to go a popular vote, and its equal insistence that there is no voter fraud, and no further steps should be taken to try to prevent it.

Although sympathetic to the idea, unless you amend the constitution it isn’t gonna happen.

I guess that falls under "Alternate facts"? Because what you said has ZERO factual evidence to support it.
