A Frontier Merger is coming!

Nobody said it would be fun but two ALPA carriers with very similar wages and flying pretty much the same equipment... tHat doesn’t seem all that bad. Take the best of the work rules from each group.
the hard part would be the paint job. A fleet of green airplanes maybe? Not Shrek green but maybe a little darker. To appeal to the environmentally sensitive folks?

clearly, there will be *****ing in ANY SLI, but these two pilot groups and their pay schedules, seniority levels, etc, definitely seem less mismatched than most mergers. And if the economies of scale lead to enough growth, everybody might come out ahead. And admit it, the A321 NEO XLRs are tempting...

That's not how it works. The union tries to cherrypick the best parts, and management tries to cherrypick the worst parts. Both sides dig in and it gets ugly. Then they get the pilot groups fighting with each other and it all goes sideways. Ask me why I know.

Would a merger induce headaches for us absolutely
Look at the long term gains though.
A 400-500 airplane ULCC monster that would have the absolute lowest CASM in the industry and probably some of the highest profit margins.
The negotiating power of 6-7000 pilots also couldn’t hurt.
I for one would happily set aside a few years of QOL and seniority for the longer term security and viability of the power house the two airlines would become.
Thats just me though, and after all we know most (not all) pilots seem to be selfish and shortsighted.
