It’s that easy month after month to have pbs award you 85-90 hours with everything you wanted and almost no QOL hit for grabbing all those incredibly desirable leftovers in open time? Don’t forget, the original claim was “Doable on 4th year pay with minimal extra flying above your line”

Factor in per diem and 321 over-ride and its really not that hard. Speaking anecdotally so ymmv, but living in base on 4th yr fo pay it’s not rocket science if your goal is to make 150k. Not to mention, if we are really splitting hairs, by the time any prospective new hire is looking at 4th year pay we will hopefully have a new contract with a better pay gradient.

Silver02, Landgreen, Onedolla & MCDU…..thank you for the replies. That’s very practical what you all said & I’ll plan on that 72 hrs min guarantee. Very nice of you guys to give a detailed answer.

For what it’s worth.
When I was on first year pay, (including three months of training pay)I grossed 80K on first year pay. I live in base and did zero premium my first year. I also was able to get two months of a build up line after training. I credited around 110 hours each of those months which helped in making some extra cash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

So I’m not sure if everybody is able to get to 80K in the first year. |

It wasn’t to hard for me. I was in a junior based and held a line after 6 months of reserve. I should also add I didn’t get my first W2 until 3 months after my first year was over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

True, however it was still my first full calendar year. With the hiring we are doing now, I can’t imagine reserve would be longer then 6-9 months at a junior base. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
how is training nowadays...just trying to get input..I get is not AQP and come prepared..
|
I don’t know if it’s fully AQP yet, but it will be quite soon. Either way, come prepared.

New hire training will be the last to get AQP. It’s still the old fashioned PC. Study what they tell you to and you’ll be fine. |
I saw on the Spirit Pilot FB page, someone talking about videos for the flows - I cant find them anywhere in.on the training site . . . I know I'm slow, but am I totally missing something here? I have the "Flow guide" Revision 8, btw. Just be nice if there was a video or something else.

Once you get your EFB, you will have access to comply. The training videos are on comply. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Know them... You need to 100% know them for CPT 1 that starts week 2. You will be doing FLL-MCO the first few CPT's with an instructor and if you struggle with flows that will set you back quite a bit. You need those CPT's to really learn things like programming the MCDU and learning FMA and Autoflight etc, not catching up on flows. I also recommend knowing your callouts for normal takeoff and ILS approach BEFORE the first CPT. I was a tad behind on the after landing flow... for the life of me I couldnt get that flow down after I landed because of so much going on LOL but by CPT 3 I was fine and it went smoothly the rest of the week. So, just know them all the best you can. |

“A320 cockpit” app costs a few bucks but was invaluable. Just make sure to
update and select the spirit flows |

9/20 class
Hello, i have class in less than 2 weeks. I have tried getting in contact with the training department to get the updated profile for normal takeoff but i cant seem to get a response from them. Any chance anyone could PM me a good email for them? I already have everything else committed to memory limitations/flows/memory items/proficiency items ext.. but that one profile. I was made aware they changed it from what we have now in the AOM 2. I’d greatly appreciate it!

There’s some background, but i would imagine that the ground instructors might mention it if you ask about it when you get to training, You can probably ask during indoc the first week if you’re not too busy. |

if you have everything memorized already, the change to the takeoff callouts is very minor and even though you learned the “old” way, it’s not that hard to get used to the “new” call outs.

you’re looking for the Operations Bulletins. In the OBs, you’re looking for OEB-59 v1. That has the new takeoff profile as OBs override AOMs. oh well crap. Just learned I can’t do the LOC 27 into SanDog anymore. Went into effect two days ago… lol Edit: The OEB-59 is the background for the takeoff profile change but I can’t seem to find anything that changes the takeoff profile except for an email dated July 12, 2021 saying that a change to the AOM was going to be released concurrently with OEB59. But it not in the AOM, so I don’t know. |

my manuals are up to date but I have no clue as to what the updates are. Seems like reading is my weak point I discovered they removed LOC and LDA off our OpSpecs in OB21-27 effective 7 sep 21. So no more LOC27 into SanDog. |

Thank you so much for your response! |
