Some Questions

1. Does anyone know what the training pay amount actually is? We all know the first year pay, but does that change during training?

2. When does seniority actually start relative to first year pay ending? Is it day one or after ioe?

3. Does insurance and family travel benefits start right away or is this a 90 day kind of thing?

4. In terms of bases, I have heard that you just want to get one that will allow a line the quickest, then dropping trips and picking up flying in a base that is better suited for your commute/pay. Do we have any idea which bases are junior right now or perhaps which ones generally go junior historically?

5. In regards to commuting, is there a specific commuting policy such as two attempts etc?

6. Who is the uniform supplier, MnH?

Thank you all for the answers in advance and if you would prefer to PM that’s cool too.

$1750/month for 3 months or OE completion

2. When does seniority actually start relative to first year pay ending? Is it day one or after ioe?

DOH

3. Does insurance and family travel benefits start right away or is this a 90 day kind of thing?

health bennies are 90 days (I think). Travel is as soon as they get you in the system.

hard to say which are absolute junior as we haven’t had a base bud in a year but FLL and MCO are junior right now, DFW & LAS relatively senior. YMMV

5. In regards to commuting, is there a specific commuting policy such as two attempts etc?

normally two attempts, one attempt until June as part of ‘rona MOUs

6. Who is the uniform supplier, MnH?

HPI

1. Training pay is $1750 a month I think but someone who has gone through it recently may be able to verify that.
2. Seniority starts day one of training/indoc, oldest guy in your class is most senior.
3. Health insurance starts at 90 days. I think, and I may be wrong, travel on Spirit starts day one and then the zed fares start 90 days. Not 100% sure...
4. Bases change all the time. Not sure for FOs right now as I've stopped paying attention.
5. Usually our commuter clause is 2 flights on any airline, call after the first missed flight. But due to a Covid LOA, for the next couple months they only require 1 flight.
6. Not sure. Lots of people don't wear the company provided shirts or pants.

new hires will go to MCO, FLL and LAS. DFW had basically a dead base for growth for years

Eh... Probably DTW and ACY. I know bottom guys are waiting to bid out.

MCDUmanipulator 03-16-2021 01:39 PM

FLL,DTW, MCO for new hires with 3 or 4 unlucky ones get ACY for a month.

This is ill advised IMO until we know for sure that everything is okay and we really start to see the flying come back into open time every month. I live in ORD and am more happy to get whatever I can hold rather than dropping everything in another base and fighting the seagulls for open time.

Agree completely. Add to the fact that if you are only able to hold reserve in the domicile that you desire, but you could hold a line elsewhere, the line will be littered with weekend trips, which, prior to Covid, were very difficult to drop.

C'mon man - don't hate on ACY - the little base that could
Just before 'Rona, MCO was not junior enough - the last April/May hires all got DTW, FLL & ACY. only 1 involuntary ACY..

and training pay is $1000 taxable, 750 non taxable per-diem. - 90 days or release to line, whichever comes first
