I stand corrected. You’re saying a brand new FO will be awarded a 4 on 3 off reserve schedule with no blocks of 6 days on? Damn, maybe I’ll start bidding reserve again.

Quick question: can we pick up from the tradeboard on reserve?

No. you can trade with people on the same RAP, though.

Tessie 06-04-2022 05:53 PM

Trade entire reserve days? Or like swap reserve trips after they get assigned?

Just swap reserve days. Let’s say your rap starts at 3am. If you can find someone to trade with you, they have to be on the 3am rap as well. Basically don’t plan on any schedule flexibility on reserve.

If you're swapping whole blocks they don't have to be the same R period at all.i can swap my r3 block for your R10.

I never had an issue doing so. I can detect your sarcasm but it’s not hard for a fairly junior FO to waive down and hold a 4-3-4-3 schedule. It’s all I ever bud when I was on reserve.

The problem which always remains, is that yes, you can build your schedule by waiving off days and requesting days off. However this will in turn make it unpredictable as to which R period you’ll end up with. You can bid RAPs or days off. Usually not both.

You cannot bid R period.
