More Bay Area overnights for the rest of us. I enjoy them. Great beer spots.

I really don’t mind the long OAK overnight. Not one of the best by any means though. But the hotel is recently remodeled and comfortable. If you turn right and head towards the bay it isn’t as bad as going towards the government buildings. I’d be open to moving to Berkeley though.

Why don’t you just avoid it if you hate NorCal so much? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Cities smelling of urine are fact. Difference is I’ve lived there long enough to remember when it was not as bad as it is now. |
The S.F. Bay area which includes Oakland is an absolute gem of an American city. From the long stay hotel it’s a quick train ride over to the Embarcadero for a walk along the waterfront to Fisherman’s Wharf then uphill to the curviest road Lombard Street with numerous local food options on many street corners.
I’ve never felt unsafe in OAK. I’ve actually never felt unsafe on any of our layovers and I always walk around the areas where we stay. Is there crime in America? Yes. Are there problems with homelessness? Yes. Could state, local and federal government agencies as well as the private sector in the Bay Area that has so much wealth do a better job of solving issues? Yes. But do those issues prevent me from enjoying our amazing American cities? No. Take some basic precautions by not carrying a lot of cash or wearing your Rolex while out walking and explore our great layover cities. And one more thing; avoid commenting on any threads started by Halon. He craves the attention but he’s really just a troll. |
OAK layover (be careful)
