The instatorque of an EV will always win stoplight to stoplight…they’re just quicker from a dig.

EVs run out of gas (heh) on top though, which can matter at a dragstrip or around a track.

Plus whirring doesn’t really stir the driving soul.

Even the new manuals aren't really true manuals. Lots of rev matching. And the new M3, (apparently) you can keep the accelerator mashed in, not touch the clutch, and change the gear from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd and it will go automatically itself.

Don't get me wrong, my next car (at midlife crisis) will be a manual. Brand New. Buy now, keep forever. CA won't even be selling gas cars after 2035 anyway and manual trannies are fast disappearing. I'm 37 now, thinking of doing it at 40.

Short list (manuals ONLY), brand new, no particular order:

911
M3
Challenger Hellcat
Camaro ZL1
Mustang GT350

I think that's about it. Any other new (2021, 2022) powerful cars that have a manual transmission?

Pretty sure the GT350 is out of production.

Ah yes, should be in the list.

Though if I’m reading correctly, this is a limited run (maybe 1-2 yrs only)?

No one really knows how long it is going to be produced for. I'm sure your guess isn't far off. Apparently they are dynoing at 610-620 to the wheels which is insane though I've only seen one shop do it so far so who really knows. All I know is that I want the manual -5. Badly.

Talking about a new gasser sport coupe is like telling kids what a pager was. And mentioning anything made by GM as good is equally as silly. Could be worse though, could be talking about a Chrysler product and then you may as well just give me your money so I can set it on fire for you.

I’ll put my GMC truck up against what you’re driving any day.

Wife drives EV. Tesla Model X, Ludicrous everything. A blast to drive and the fastest minivan the world will ever see. But does it come around corners roaring like a RWD 911? Not even close. Two totally different driving experiences.

I know of 4 more leaving this month that aren't in that number.

Toyota nuff said. Last long time. Stop and pick one up when your transmission goes out or you’re tired of supergluing plastic interior parts back together on that rattle trap
