Delta pilot posted this info, where a pilot hired today will be on the list after so many years. They have done a lot of hiring and this shows just how much.
there are 14,103 pilots on the July seniority list 5 years (2028) - 11,500 10 years (2033)- 9,000 15 years (2038)- 7,200 20 years (2043)- 5,500 25 years (2048)- 3,300 30 years (2053)- 1,300 35 years (2058)- 350 39 years (2062)- 20 youngest pilot at DL retires in 2063 |

I think AA will retire something like 4200 pilots in the next 5 years. That doesn’t touch all the early outs, medicals and so on and so forth. AA had almost 700 early outs in the last 12 months alone. That probably doesn’t continue at that pace, but American is still on the front part of their wave.

It really hurts being at 20%. And I have 10 more years, so I should really staple myself at the bottom at DL and retire at 64%. Every FO I fly with I tell them if they are less than 10 years in, and have more than 20 years to go, they should at the very least consider leaving. And I know that I could still make more leaving, but I do not think I would be happier. Only reason I am working on it is because of the merger.
I’m right there with you, but at this point I’ve concluded it’s not really worth going anywhere. Sure I could make a little more but missing holidays and family events for the last 10 years or so of my career isn’t my ideal at this point. And honestly I’m happier with the idea of a JB merger than F9, so that’s helped me a little. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Spirit right now has gotten pretty bad for new hires, the training here is really bad, reserve times are close to a year in most bases. You will get used pretty much every day, and once you finally get a line the entire month is red so you can’t drop anything. On top of that everybody in my class and classes ahead of me are getting rebased to have to go to recurrent 4 months early, due to short FO staffing. All of that while making terrible pay. Meanwhile management is doing zero to curb attrition.
