I’ll trade us to the old contract rates if it means we get that guy obsessed with the mob and Sofia Loren to drive us to the long hotel in Tampa again.

What can Spirit ALPA do to get people off their butts? They buy food, sometimes provide hotel and transportation; people just need to show up. I see guys showing up to take 3 pizzas and a growler of beer home with our unity events, and those same people are no shows for picketing.
This isn’t on ALPA, your pilot group is either motivated for change or they are not. |

This is one reason we have the SPC, to figure out ways to rally and try to create a front. Let’s try something else besides getting together at a restaurant. It may not even be getting together at all. Send out bi-weekly emails highlighting how far we are behind everyone else. Find a way to **** people off. I agree, part of it is on our group absolutely, but not solely..alpa plays a part. Our biggest base is a problem.. Last time we couldn’t even get 100 people to show up to picket.
...we keep this up we might have people trade in their North Face/Karbon jackets for 10 stripes and fly for Avelo. |

What part of newbies did you not understand? Sure, it would be great if EVERYBODY got better than industry standard, but it’s difficult to deny that first year pay is a problem for retention of new hires. They get out of IOE, update their apps/resume to reflect a new type, and start getting offers from others with better pay in training than they are making on reserve.
https://i.ibb.co/m42YGTF/D685-F4-F8-...-A8329-ED5.jpg Do you seriously believe that doesn’t affect first year attrition? GMAFB. It’s been said over and over, first year pay is the company’s problem. Staffing and attracting talent isn’t the union’s job. |

First year is not the problem…. Not having benefits for 90 days is a problem. Friends of mine with same seniority at swa and united or making 20-30K more a year flying similar schedules. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
