If it was allowed in our current system, IOT would solve that. Senior line holders would get their drops in first before the junior guys on reserve.

Frontier has a sweet system of being able to swap days from a pot of available days.

I’m sure some sort of reserve drops will be back next contract. Probably the drop from 1 set of days, outside in, no orphan days. Just like we had during the Covid MOU.

That seem like a very fair compromise

They need to do something, as reserve times look to be trending longer and longer. I for one won't upgrade until I can hold a line and I know many others I have spoken to feel the same way. Obviously that is a ways off for me, but I cant see being a Captain on reserve in LAS for 3-5 years. No thanks, especially as a commuter.

reserve times generally trend longer when you don’t hire for a year.

They are trending longer? Really? With all the new hiring we are doing?

captain upgrades now 20 a month until august. Down from 32 a month planned. Slower movement in fo ranks (less captain upgrades less FO movement) results in longer reserve for FO’s (and captains)

Oh yeah? Are you on the negotiating committee?

I know no one cares how it was done at Brand X... but why can't they just add a rule that you can't have a single reserve day effectively stopping you from 'checkerboarding'. That way you can still trade days. Shrug.

Springtime will mark 4 years on reserve for me, Dfw.
