Can reserves pick up open time on days off, or just list on XY?

Out of the 6 days you said you’d be on reserve in a row, how many days are you guys usually being used?

Thanks for the info! When sitting reserve for 6 days in a row, does Spirit have short vs long call? If so, what are the expectations for that? I've heard some people that are within reasonable driving distance to their base may drive an hour and hang out at a coffee shop to be within a "short call" distance of like 2 hrs and if they dont get called, they just drive back home.

Lastly, and I know it is heavily dependent on base, seniority, and time of the year....but when called out on reserve for a trip, are the trips usually day turns or are they longer in duration of like 2-4 days normally?

That sounds horrible unless you want to spend 10Hrs in a coffee shop.

Im sure that's oversimplified, but sure beats spending money on a crashpad or hotel and sitting around that not getting used...

To each their own

Again depends on base. LAS plan to be used 6 of 6. Super short in base, everyone transfers out before hitting the line. Hopefully that will slow soon.

As with most airlines I’m sure it varies wildly. Expect to fly 90% of your RSV days in LAS. Maybe the first day and or last day of a bucket aren’t used.

It all varies based on how many people are available in each day’s bucket, your relative seniority, how close you are to min guarantee etc. I’m in MCO, relatively junior, and I haven’t been called the past 2 days. I’d say I’m used 80-85% off the days.

Most of the time in my experience, before your first days of a block you can look on crew trac and self notify if there's a trip and then if you are on a 2/3 day they'll give you the next assignment when you check out. I've only gotten the bare minimum 3 hr call out 1 time but as always YMMV
