Meet the Chief
Is there anyone in here that has been invited to the upcoming meet the chief events that would like to link up? Also for anyone that has done them in the past, could you please post or PM your stories and experiences with it?

I did one in late 2018. There were 3 chiefs there and about 15-20 attendees. They did a presentation about the company, then a group Q and A, and then they divided the class and you got to do an elevator pitch with the chief you were assigned to and spend a couple of minutes talking to them and asking questions. Bring a few copies of your resume and a few questions. Practice an elevator pitch.

I was fortunate enough to get an invite and will be going. I don't know if I will be able to meet up since I'm flying in that morning and then have a flight home that afternoon. I'm pretty excited to go, but I am worried about the possible effects of the Delta variant (and other new variants as well) on the company and hiring. I'm at a super stable job right now and it makes me nervous to leave that and possibly get furloughed while in class or something. If it wasn't for that, I would go to Spirit in a heatbeat.

I'm at a government flight department. They've never had to lay anybody off in the history of the dept.
Who says I'm wasting my time? I'm simply being cautious about my next move. Well, I guess if they don't have any plans to slow down, then nothing will slow them down! And quit watching the news, huh?

FWIW, NK honored their commitment to those they’d given CBAs to through April and partway through May of 2020. Then they were the first major to announce they would not be furloughing. Don’t mean it CAN’T happen, but I don’t know any management or senior pilot group with a better record. I’ll grant you that first year pay does sort of suck though.

Yeah, the first year pay will suck, but I did the math and after 5 years of earnings at min guarantee, even at the FO rate, I will have made considerably more money with NK than at my current job.

I appreciate the info. That actually does make me feel better. I've told a couple of the guys here at my current gig that I'm thinking of moving on and they act like it's the craziest thing they've ever heard. So I just have some doubt.

he/she is obviously looking for the 2 feet in front. 208 wants to go to Spirit and knows that Spirit is better but just had some concerns.
