Not much to discuss. Big bird flew into the engine on takeoff, crew aborted below v1, passengers evacuated... Glad no one was seriously hurt and the dog made it out ok. Looks like everyone did their job well.

Cringing at everyone going for their bags.

What kind of a dog was it?

Was the evac ordered from the cockpit or uncommanded?

Cockpit. You can hear the evac siren come on before it’s commanded, just like the checklist

Our Evac switch is set to CA position only

Excellent job on the crew! I'm sure the media won't even acknowledge them since that isn't what sells clicks. Terrible job on the pax. People grabbing bags and inciting panic; I'm sure none of them even listened to the safety demo...

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away I was in a group of paid volunteers - all college students - doing an evacuation test to help certify a new aircraft. The first two run throughs - the day before we did it for the FAA guys - looked a lot like that.

What you see is probably pretty close to what you are going to get. I wouldn’t expect anything a whole lot better.

Maybe in future aircraft the crew will be able to lock the overhead bins from the FA station to prevent this kind of crap.

Then you will have some PAX who will be fighting and trying to pry open the bins.

May take an electric fence shock to keep them from working to get them open. Or is that politically incorrect?
