Q3 2021 Earnings

Does anyone know the release date by chance? The Spirit investor relations website has nothing and Yahoo Finance only has a date range, and NASDAQ has an estimate of the 27th….. Anyone know?

28th per CNBC

NKSpilot 10-26-2021 05:22 AM

Earnings call is Oct 28 10am (IR site, front and center)

I think that would mean the report is released after market close on the day prior?

Halon1211 10-26-2021 07:07 AM

Does anyone think we can pull off a profit for the past quarter despite the meltdown a few months ago and rising fuel prices?

we seem to have pretty full flights...

if we pulled off a profit after that meltdown…..

$AVE TO THE MOOOOOOON!

bruhaha 10-26-2021 10:17 AM

Just because flights are full doesn’t mean we are making money. It depends on how much they paid for their flights.

true, but it’s much easier to to be profitable with full flights than to be profitable with empty flights.

13 analysts in unanimous agreement on losses for Q3 and Q4.

I suppose it is not impossible that they could all be wrong but what do you think

Mulligan Please 10-26-2021 11:02 AM

SWA scored a profit even with their meltdowns.

We discount tickets sure, but not bag fees, carry on fees, seat choice, catering, or the other ancillary charges.

I’m not saying ticket price is irrelevant, but just because they got on cheap doesn’t mean we are losing money.

CincoDeMayo 10-26-2021 01:09 PM

“Delta variant affecting bookings. Loads are 78-80% but tickets are cheap and yield is down. Anticipating Delta variant effects decrease by holiday season.”

As many of us have seen via text, from management

Tranquility 10-26-2021 02:32 PM

Consensus EPS has us losing more money than Q2, and fuel is more expensive now than it was then, and we didn’t have a massive meltdown in Q2…. Highly unlikely we churn a profit for Q3….

JulesWinfield 10-26-2021 02:42 PM

I heard we will all get profit sharing for this quarter.

Look at the very bottom left of the updated fleet page...

our A321NEO’s are going to hold 235 passengers!!! dang. Just when I thought we couldn’t squeeze anymore people inside those things...hm well maybe they are trying to put more people inside to make it more efficient for when we have the longer flights to Hawaii and Europe :)

Hmm…ditching a row of big front seats and the aft partition perhaps?

I was thinking more like a couple of extra seats in the wheel-well.

More leg room and a helluva view on takeoff and landing.

If I can read numbers, we had the WORST adjusted pre-tax margin in the whole industry….. :(

What is this, amateur hour?! We (F9) are putting 240 in ours! Sorry had to drop in, but the reason for extra capacity is one fewer door exit on each side in favor of overwing exits on the 321N.

But I keep getting told the model prints money. We’re they wrong?

well a 50 million dollar operational meltdown tends to be a wet blanket come earnings season.

$50M meltdowns have large effects on small carriers’ numbers. We made roughly $335M in 2019. So we crapped out a little less than 1/6 of a pre-Covid income in one week. And we’re still operating with Covid fares and passenger loads.

just wait until Spirit can’t hire pilots due to low pay. They just lowered hiring mins to 1500 hours. Regional with Airbus.

Maybe someday Spirit will get legacy pay - doubt it though with the poor earnings.

Halon1211 10-28-2021 08:19 AM

Ted said in earnings report, they are considering multiple crew bases to be added.

Aren't classes full right now? I don't expect that to last much longer, but it seems like in the short term we have no issues hiring pilots.

Issue isn’t getting pilots. It’s keeping them.

Best part of the call was ironically the last line

"Overall expense for labor will be significantly higher, period"
