I guess more interesting to me is that 1000 was really 750.

The only thing thats pretty much universally known is this will be a longevity/Relative mix based on the recent history of integrations like this. With that you will see guys from the more senior side lose longevity and guys from the more junior group lose relative seniority. Because of this, I would not assume a 2009 JBLU pilot would be higher on the MCO bid list than a 2010 Spirit pilot. The JBLu guy will be upset he is now junior to a Spirit guy with less longevity and that NK pilot will say "Well I was bidding 15% in MCO, now im bidding 25%, I got screwed too". And thats how SLIs work out.
Yup. fillerfiller

Still waiting on my morning coffee to brew but pretty sure you were the guy railing on about how saturated the NK market to Florida is when you were on here beating your Blue drum prior to the F9 decision, and that we have squeezed all the business we could out of it.

Now you are putting money that after eliminating domestic and international overlap on routes that don’t need the double frequencies, and B6 canning all the NK routes of unsophisticated Florida bound people you claim won’t make money…. That B6 will suddenly discover troves of discerning and affluent new replacement routes because, I dunno JetBlue effect, and FLL and MCO will grow exponentially (compared to your current staffing)?

Could happen, but you might want to hold on to your money
When you only understand half of what someone says it's not surprising you end up confused.

Let me guess, they are gonna displace all the NK pilots to JFK...

Any word on the planned size of the Houston base? I'll be starting at NK soon and live in Houston, so I'd love to be based there. Any tea leaf readers have any guesses as to how long it will take a new hire to hold IAH? Thanks!

No one has any clue, but ATL went pretty senior and is slow to grow. If they take the same strategy with IAH, it might take a while to get based there.

Displacement to come later this year. Going to be much higher than the cancelled vacancy earlier this year. Hope to get some details and truth tomorrow on the call but preliminary numbers are 500 from the same 3 bases, or as like to call it, everyone is getting the ORD treatment.

Sorry guys, it’s gonna be nasty for the 3 bases
Hopefully we can ask some real questions tomorrow and none of this softball junk we see on these calls. Even if the moderator doesn’t select them, it’s time they start to answer for this operation.

As soon as you complete training put your app in at United. If you live near IAH and stay at NK you're a fool. Best of luck at United in the future.

With the displacement bid that was supposed to happen and prior to anyone knowing about IAH, that number was probably going to be much closer to 1000 than 750, so they weren’t totally wrong

maybe the first bid. But now new hires are being awarded it and also the second most junior captain base on the bottom end.
