(I am anti both straps over the shoulder however, at least in the terminal)

Reminds me of the NorthFace argument people make or the sweater argument people make. People who wear non approved uniform items but say “I press my shirt and I’m not overweight”, thinking that’s a pass for the uniform.

There are tons of day trip bags out there that don’t look like you’re going to the gym or 2nd grade math class. If you think strolling up to your gate with a backpack over 1 shoulder looks acceptable as an airline pilot, you’re in the minority for sure.

Rationalize it all you want, it looks ridiculous.

There is also only one color suitcase and it’s black. Period.

Here here, hell yeah, can I get an “AMEN”?!

Utterly ridiculous and unprofessional is the only way to describe someone who thinks a 🤬 backpack is a good idea with a pilot uniform.

At this airline I’d argue not “looking acceptable as an airline pilot” is the majority. No one presses their shirts or hems their pants (assuming the pants are even the right color) to a length that says “I’m a professional”

Can’t argue with what you’re saying.

I cringe whenever I see a backpack.. double cringe when it's on both shoulders! Summer camp, anyone? You guys look ridiculous.

If you swear by the layover utility of a backpack, take it to any tailor, have them double stitch a flap of cordura across the area that would be at your mid back, but leaving a 6-8in gap in the middle. Now when you extend the handle of your luggageworks you can slide the handle through that gap and transport it like you would a headset/chart bag.

Boom. Twenty bucks and you can carry a backpack without looking like a middle schooler, and the flap will sit flat when you wear it around town.

Case closed.

I’m guessing the majority of people on here that are *****ing are also wearing north face jackets and the wrong color pants. By the way, I’ve been double strapped for a while…..oh, wait, backpacks. Never mind.

This and a lot of backpacks already come with this on them.
