The original statment was about a pay LOA. If the company needs to curb attrition it creates bargaining power, that is worth more then a pay LOA.

JBU ALPA is pretty short sighted. Hopefully SPA and you guys can help us hold the line and get a industry leading CBA.

If they were only were only talking about raising first year pay, I would get that, but if the company offers an across the board pay raise, before going in to JCBA negotiations, that seems like a win/win.

Frontier $90/hr now. Hope that will motivate spirit somehow to make a move but I highly doubt it, since they are getting so many application after the merger announcement

Assuming the deal closes tomorrow for the sake of this question, and it takes 2-3 years to reach an new contract with seniority list integration etc. During the period the NK pilots will be earning substantially less money than than an equivalent seniority JB pilot. Assuming there is a contract increase in the cards as a result of this purchase does that mean the NK pilots can expect to see some kind of retroactive pay when the dust settles?
dude, really.

Not crazy at all. Would you maintain status quo for the next ten years? Under your theory that would MASSIVELY increase the pilot bargaining power…in the unlikely event NK actually survived.

Someone mentioned earlier the blue uniforms going away. I would like that to happen.

but let’s talk about bringing back those hats.

Especially those big white ones that they used to wear at Pan American Airways or the White Star Line.

Management can't maintain status quo for 10 years. To band-aid pay without other improvements is pointless.
