Default Is this really even a day off?

Ned’s Kids,

just wanted to give you all a public service announcement for any one on reserve.

The company has made an unprecedented move, some thing that’s never been exercised in our contracts in the past. They are starting to utilize the movable days off as you have a read about in the union email.

POV: You’re excited, you just got the weekend off that you wanted too as a Reserve line holder, but then now crew scheduling calls you and says they moved your day off and you no longer have that weekend off. So as an NK Pilot, do you really have 12 days off or do you really have 8 days off? How can you even plan for anything if you don’t know for sure if you have that day off?

Just some food for thought.

I can tell you put a lot of thought into this. You’re completely wrong, but I bet it sounded great in your head

haha, I’m wrong?

so if you’re on reserve and they can give you a trip on your days off, then your days off are just shuffled around and that’s not wrong?

You’re a fool, like always. It’s not that simple as you claim, it’s not 8 days off vs 12. There is a process

Does anyone like movable vs non movable days? Is it something we should make sure isn’t in a JCBA, yes. But when JBLU guys are trying to get an understanding of our contract and you spin nonsense, like normal, well that’s hard to do

Also, the irony on the JBLU forum you were stroking over the awesome NK QOL, and how it’s unmatched, and then you come here and exaggerate and cry about losing days off.

You asked if a rest period without company duty is a day off. It is, regardless of when you receive it, so long as it's known in advance.

Then you asked if it's wrong. You're asking a moral question. Two different subjects.

If you're asking if it's wrong as a legal question, you're back to determining if it's a day free of all duty to the company, known prospectively. Is it?

If you're answering your phone on your day off you're an idiot above and beyond the idiot you make yourself out to be by not knowing the contract.

How can I plan something on “my day off” when it’s not really a day off. Sure they eventually make it up to me, but still you can’t plan on anything.

and just because I bellyache about one thing in our contract doesn’t mean our QOL is now sh!t.

Working into a pre planned day off a JB= Double time. RSV or Line holder and you have to volunteer for it.

The JB influence is already showing up at NK. They will exploit and twist every sentence of the CBA so language needs to be super tight.

Movable days off is a non-starter in the JCBA. No way, no how, no thank you.

NK is dropping your weekends off to zero.
