Never going to happen. That would be the last possible dance partner. I only see two possible suitors. Frontier or Southwest. One has money and one doesn’t and the one with money I don’t think is interested in taking on a complex merger with a bankrupt carrier.

Spirit doesn’t have a stand alone plan bc that’s never been the plan. This airline was set up to be flipped from the beginning of being IPOed. You don’t CEO an account unless you are getting numbers right for a sale. This company will be sold one way or another, long term stand alone is not an option anyone serious is considering.

So I’ve been talking with a lot of Captains out there on the line and none of them are applying elsewhere or concerned about their jobs. You guys are going to be in for a rude awakening and scrambling for a job soon.
it is pretty clear we have no path forward (that will work). everybody keeps saying we will be fine. you guys are delusional.
I have no desire to start this all over again. I will go down with this ship, rearrange my nest egg and take a $30k/year night warehouse job where I can listen to music, not deal with people, and sleep in my own bed without earplugs or alarm clocks. Biggest sacrifice will be stepping back down to driving a Mazda (not a Miata) and not getting that Ferrari I've always wanted. (Maybe a Miata instead?)
YMMV.

Golden handcuffs, seniority, age, and an overall "Lost that lovin' feeling."

AA's single biggest objective has been to reduce its dissipating mountain of debt. I don't think AA management has interest in adding back to it by absorbing Spirit's current financial situation.
