Well we all will be as the company shrinks from the bottom

We've also got quite a few pilots who are from the NE and didn't want to commute so they moved to a base, especially in FL. I've flown with several who were planning on eventually going back to that area had the Jetblue merger been approved.

I don't think anyone is moving their family until this company starts operating with a profit again.

So this bid on the 31st is EWR only? Not the furlough?

It's kinda both. After the bid they will know which specific pilots will be furloughed. This can then change if the union can get us furlough mitigation. The bid results can be cancelled at any time up to the effective date (sept 1).

It's both. Furlough can actually be bid voluntarily.

Why not?

Over half of our bases including EWR are hubs and domiciles for legacies. Why not move? If you want to leave you could move or if you have a class date already you could use the displacement to pay for your move. Even if you want to stay you could move because you like a certain area better than your current domicile also that it’s a hedge in case spirit goes tits up and you now live a domicile for your preferred legacy.

My comment refered to moving to EWR. Sure people might move to a hub city, but north Jersey? Gross.

What's wrong with Northeastern PA/western NJ or Central Jersey along the shore? Nothing. Beautiful areas. Ya dont have to live in the central ward to work in EWR.

Also another valid point. However the comment made was about someone moving to EWR as a result of this bid. I don't think it will happen. I'm not knocking anyone who lives here, anyone who wants to move to a hub city, just simply stating my opinion.
