“Destination Transformation”

Welp, here we go. What are your predictions?

redhot 07-25-2024 03:33 PM

For those on the outside looking in, can you describe what was sent out?

Directautogroup 07-25-2024 03:44 PM

"Too little, too late"

SSlow 07-25-2024 04:41 PM

Massive South America expansion incoming, mostly in the land of bandeja paisa

Tranquility 07-25-2024 05:49 PM

My guess is new paint and/or new onboard offerings (BFS meals??) or something like that.

Halon! 69 struck the hook! Now snag em. Before you catch and release, force them to give a Billy Tate update.

Sounds to me like some sort of subsidized flying...like a partnership with a travel agency such as Booking/Expedia/AmEx that offers discounted airfare with purchase of an all-inclusive vacation package, or some sort of junket or charter-type flying.

That worked well for USA 3000...

Wouldnt get too excited. The FA’s have been doing a new version of S3 training. My guess is ULCC model is going away and we will start offering a business type bundle or beater seats, meals, cocktails. All this is moot unless we refi the debt.

This.

I assume debt is basically finalized, it’s why they waited until August for this roll out, and will be announced soon.

Our FAs having to do a full service, now that will be fun to watch

RiddleEagle18 07-26-2024 06:47 AM

But it but the judge said jetblue would eliminate an ULCC and that could never happen...

Directautogroup 07-26-2024 07:17 AM

Free drinks and snacks with some bundles and free wifi is lackluster at best.

Wondering why Spirit doesn’t get a credit card deal. Full disclosure - I’m an idiot, so let’s get that out of the way.

Banks have to want to do the deal so it is profitable for them as well. The majoirty of the credit card users that the legacy airlines have don't really make the credit card companies much money. The "big fish" are what really make it worth it. Those that spend over $100k per year on their branded credit card is where the real profits are. Also, the card holder have to want to use the card for that many purchases. A business owner that uses the card for $20k per month, and then takes a family of 5 on 2 European vacations first class with points at Delta is the target customer for the cards. Not really something that Spirit can offer.

The typical spirit passenger...well...is different.

Haha. We do. You haven’t heard the 3am red eye announcement for the free 20,000 miles if you sign up this flight for the Spirit MasterCard?

Ha! I guess now that you mention it, they were pitching something…I just never listened. Do we make any money off of it? Guess we must if they are still pushing it.

The FAs tell me it adds up to some nice walking around money. Like several hundred bucks a month.

That, plus the stolen minis from the catering cart…fun times

69fastback 07-28-2024 07:06 AM

Changes in ticket offerings with a premium option which includes more for the ticket price, including seats being in empty in your row, bags, snacks. 3 tiers of tickets being offered.

I look quite good in the hat, thank you.

well, tomorrow’s the big day… I don’t know why you fools don’t believe me, but tomorrow is the day when Spirit announces we will officially be leaving the ULCC. It’s really not that hard to figure out…

Who said they don't believe that? Everyone knows the ulcc is dead and moving to an LCC model. You'd be an idiot if you believe it will be done well. Southwest will do it right, we will not.

I have my doubts but anything is possible. I already told you I'd LUV to have to apologize to you.

Why wouldn't they buy Jetblue?

Their market cap and our debt arent much different.

No clue, I am just piggy backing off previous comments. But to answer your question only thing I could think, 1 fleet type being bought and a more diverse network.

Good points.

SnowmanKiller 07-29-2024 01:19 PM

But if the DOJ struck down the Jetblue-Spirit merger, how on earth could a SouthWest-Spirit acquisition be allowed? It too will go to court and be struck down.

The most likely outcome is Spirit will continue to lose money until it is liquidated. No use sitting around and hoping for someone to come rescue Spirit when they can be bought for cheap in a liquidation sale.

no because going into this hypothetical Southwest merger. Spirit is no longer a ULCC. So a ULCC is not going away due to a merger
