That’s an understatement for sure.

Quote: The court action was in 2005 from their 2002 bankruptcy filing.
There was no court ruling in 2005 via a 1113 motion. The United pilots and the company reached a negotiated settlement.

The legacy carriers were taking paycuts pre-bankruptcy to avoid bankruptcy. This was done because they were afraid their pensions would be terminated in bankruptcy (they were). The carriers all went bankrupt anyway, then the judge forced more paycuts with no regards to the voluntary ones they had already taken.

In United’s case, the judge referred to Jetblue’s lower payrates when forcing the pay cuts. This is why the other carriers say we’re all in this together.

No this is false. United pilots negotiated a pay reduction and the 1113 hearing was canceled. There were no "additional paycuts" forced on United pilots by the BK court.

So 3 years at current rates (or negotiated rates in your case) before the judge made a decision? Interesting!

I repeat, 100 mil is not going to save the airline. The only thing voting away our gains is going to do is make us and everyone else worse off. Make them take it.

Our MEC has a legal responsibility to negotiate in good faith, its our job to say no.

Also, ALPA national's number one priority is ALPA national. They are never going to tell us not to negotiate.

Nobody is suggesting that $100,000,000 will save the company. You sound like a buffoon. It doesn’t take a mathematician to figure out that $100,000,000 isn’t $1,000,000,000. It’s a collective effort that MAY save the company…without it we’re all toast. I’m sure that won’t stop you from continuing to shout nonsense. Continue…

Imagine almost a decade of bad management decisions and ****ing of the public and coming down to 100mil in savings saving the company. There’s bigger problems than pilot pay.

new 10-Q published. Another quarter losing 100’s of millions of dollars. There’s no way a plan of reorganization will get approved by a judge in this condition, nor would creditors continue to burn that kind of money.

After seeing these numbers I really do believe it’s either an acquisition or liquidation. Not trying to be hyperbolic either… those numbers for Q3 are horrendous and don’t show any sign of getting better.

So just to clarify; you think I sound like a buffoon, not because anything I said is incorrect, but because you don't like it? You are coping.

Literally no-one looking in from the outside seems to be under the delusion that pilot concessions will make a difference to the ultimate fate of the airline. It is obviously just a necessary part of the plan for management's financing negotiations. I don't want to make it easy for them. Perhaps I am unique in that I can acknowledge this while still being affected by it.

Btw, I know that everyone left here is going to vote yes, I'm still going to point out the obvious in the meantime and say I told you so when the time comes.

Someone please explain WHY any other carrier would acquire spirit. What would be the upside to that over letting it fade away while slowly picking up the pieces one at a time.
