I dont think you will hear anything official on that subject until october at the earliest. I do think there will be a very small recall this fall, but that's just my opinion. I think we will need a few more on line by Dec 1st, and since its been longer than 12 months for the guys on furlough, they will require a more extensive training course to be requalified. So I expect folks to be in class beginning of november.

wouldn't it be easier for them to first bring back some of the voluntary leave of absence people first? or is that even an option?
Everythings been so quiet lately... maybe a little too quiet.... |

Those will come back anyways when their leave time is up. The longest was until December believe. So if they will have a need it would be on top of that 12 on leave. I think recall for Nov is optimistic. If they could ride out July, they'll ride out Dec also. I hope I am wrong but my personal count back clock is set to Feb/March.
This dec is different than last July. In july they chose to ride it out because they knew the fall was coming and if they recalled a few they would most likely have to furlough them a few months down the road. This Dec we are just a few months shy of three new airframes and a boat load of training to get everyone on line in time. Im not saying there will definately be a recall this fall, but my opinion is there will be. |

They never got 12 pilots to take leave for the full 3 months, nor did they get an equivalent number of one month leaves to account for 12 pilots @ 3 months. Go back and look at the awards, there were only a handful of volunteers and mostly for one month only.

But "clown airlines" does fit well. FA's doing adult advertisement, spiritTV, "The McDonald's of Airlines", ex-central amateur xxx videos on the internet, combined with bipolar a/c delivery patterns. Next thing you know you are watching Discovery Channel and Spirit will be right after Survivor Man. Then it will be revealed that we have actually been hired for the biggest reality show on the globe. Fantastic drama. It is almost entertaining. |
Any bets on the 321's going away??????
