CRJ nose gear door/ bypass pin

CRJ nose gear door/ bypass pin
Can someone explain why at some carriers the nose gear doors are opened on the CRJ while at the gate? Im guessing it has soemthing to do with the bypass pin. Also, is the gear doors controlled from the flight deck or from the ground crew or both?

700/900 have nose doors mechanically linked to the gear: Gear down = door open.
200 has hydraulic doors which open automatically during gear operation, and then close automatically after the gear is up or down. These doors are normally closed on the ground, but can be opened for Mx or pre-flight purposes.
If you need to know how to operate them, your airline will tell you.

alright thanks guys for the replies, one more question about the DA-42 twinstar, when u fire up the electric master, what exactly is making that noise and also what is going on when that loud high pitch noise goes on for a few seconds then stops? thnaks again

Sounds like the gyros spinning up. You do have at least one (back-up Attitude). The squeal is most likely the autopilot starting up. You should see the display light up.
Those are my best guesses based on what our DA-40s do, at least, the G1000 versions. I could be totally off the mark. More info on what "that noise" is would be useful.

ill post a link to a video i took with the sound in it when I get home but it is coming from the back of the plane and it appears that if the electrical system has been on recently the sound will only last for a quick second or 2 but if the plane has been sitting there for a while the sound lasts longer, idk if that helps or now. Its not really important im just curious as to what was going on in there when i hear it. thanks
