Can't help you on the band replacement, but I was looking at the Clarity Aloft's at Sun-N-Fun this year and they mentioned that the headset's worked very well for General Aviation aircraft. In your opinion what do you think? I have the BOSE but always looking for lighter weight. The representative for Clarity Aloft said they were designed for noisy aircraft and would cut out just as much noise as the ANR headsets.

I bought a Clarity a Loft Pro Headset a couple of months ago and love it. It takes a bit of getting used to but when you find the sweet spot in your ear, it works very well. I too had a Bose, I like this much more... Contact Clarity a Loft for your replacement parts, they work very well with people.

clarity aloft is great! you have to keep replacing the ear plugs about once a month, but its worth it. i love not having anything over my head and not worrying about batteries running out. i have the bose, which is about 8 years old, as well and i use it as a spare... its pretty much putting an ear plug in your ear. you can tell the difference! haha

I've had one for 1.5 years, but I have the TSO'd one which doesn't have the adjustment thing. I just mailed it back to the company last week because the rubber coating on the mic was splitting open. They just mailed me back a brand new replacement.
I'm very happy with the product, and now the company has shown that they will stand behind it. Give them a call and I'm sure they'll take care of you- although they are a little slow on the callback sometimes.
Hopefully they are working on an updated model that will hold up a little better in heavy-duty airline use.

There's two pair of them hanging in a J-3 Cub I fly often. They're glorious - wind through your hair.. no hot, sweaty clamps on your head while blocking a great deal of noise out. I love 'em, almost as much as my Lightspeeds.
My bose hasn't seen service in years.
As for the earpieces, if your dishwasher has a closing basket in the silverware tray... give that a shot. You heard it here :-D

Thanks for all the reply's... I think you guys just sold a pair of Clarity Aloft's to me. They should split the commission, lol..
I think I will give them a try. I'm a full time CFI so anything light and not sweaty would be GREAT!! especially in florida..

I use the Clarity Aloft in the jet, but for the piston planes / noisy jets, I still use the Bose X.
Also, I use molded ear pieces (that you can get at a hearing aid store) with the Clarity Aloft TSO'd model. Ditto on the microphone boom. I might support that with a piece of metal attached to it.
Both headsets have their sweet spot. Please don't confuse an ANR headset for a passive one, though.

I have the "Pro's" also, and love it. It did take awhile for adjustment, but since then it's great. Infact, I'm headed from IN to CA to pick up a Piper 6XT and fly it back over the next few days, and this is the headset I brought. I have a DC 13.4 I use for quick trips/test flights, but the CA is my XC headset(MP3 input also!)

If you're on a budget, Quiet Technologies (www.quiettechnologies.com) has the same style headset for about half the price of Clarity Aloft. I've used one for about 2 years now, been happy with it, and as mentioned above, the tips need to be replaced about once a month.
