Default 737NG dual FMC failure

In case of double fmc failure by Mel you can perform one leg. Is it possible to use the auto throttle during the climb? If yes with which mode? Thanks

You can use the autothrottle for all phases of flight except takeoff. You can use it in N1 or speed mode, but not VNAV obviously.
