When I first heard the term “shuttle climb” I thought it perhaps meant that you somehow procured a rocket pack, strapped it on, lit it off, and pointed your nose straight up. The idea being to get out of ATC’s hair as quickly as possible.
I guess that was an inaccurate assumption.

No "rocket pack" required. In my former life we called it an afterburner.
