Default Why fly here?

I am currently in training looking at regionals like all of us to jump in the 121 career. There are plenty of negatives here, well duh its a forum. I am preferring a St. Louis base. Say what you want about choosing somewhere because of base, but it is what it is. GoJets is my other option so shoot.

Is there a question? You live in Stl so you have no choice right?

Come to TSA! We would love to have u. And since im the first on here saying come to TSA, I want my referal bonus

But really, its a regional. Has its good and bad. Either way trust me on this: Commuting sux. So living in base is huge!!!! And I think we have a better contract than G7. Worth considering

What's the story on standup overnights/CDOs? How tightly are 117 mins pushed besides the 14hr max day?
Appreciate any info on real QoL not just Aerocrew survey stuff.
Thanks much,

Thanks much,
We really dont do CDO also known as (highspeeds, standups, the worst night of your life, etc.). They just dont fit well with our company. On reserve you are going to have quite a few min rest 10 hr overnights. Outside of that, its really not too bad. On reserve you will likely have some 14 hr days. On the flip side though, these days are not like working at kmart. They still go by fairly fast. But yes at the end you will want to sleep more than anything else.

I hope that answers some of your questions. Just remember that anywhere you go you will need to keep an eye on your duty. Do Not trust the scheduling dept. It you run into an issue with then contact your chief.

Default ATP?

Does anyone know what time commitment TSA has for new hire pilots that accept the ATP? Thanks!

There is no commitment for the ATP-CTP course. I used the ATP-CTP course back in November of 2016. They will fly you to the course that falls the week before your class date and then fly you up to St Louis the evening after or day after your ATP exam

Default TSA "family" factor, and more questions...

I am a former military RotorHead with most of my FW req's already met. TSA's RW transition program/bonus is quite enticing and, being a Colorado resident, I am particularly attracted to the DEN domicile. I will likely be able to split my sign-on bonus between training and cash.

1) Is there any "fine print" in the contract to which I should pay particularly close attention?

2) Is TSA's contracted FBO in Florida ("Sky Warrior") "user friendly", or can I expect attempts to swindle me out of funds (i.e. delaying sign-offs and requiring unnecessary additional training, etc) ?

3) Does Sky Warrior do a thorough job of preparing students for 121 & TSA requirements (beyond just minimum flight time requirements)?

4) If I accept an offer from a major airline before my 24mo contract at TSA is fulfilled, is pay-back of the bonus pro-rated?

5) How is the camaraderie and unity among pilots / flight crews?

6) What are the three most significant issues facing TSA pilots today?

Thank you ahead of time for your responses and recommendations.

I'm curious about this as well. I need to build about 100 hours.
