Negotiation session last week they came in and demanded we essentially give up all our soft pay and agree to no pay raises. Then stormed out when our negotiators refused to give up the soft pay we agreed to in the PBS implementation agreement. Looks like we are headed to mediation....

Definitely a new low.
Everywhere else us getting more and more pay. I get that qol sucks at a lot if regionals, but by and large nobody is taking any real concessions.
Losing soft pay would make us the lowest paid regional. I am convinced of that. The soft pay is the only thing keeping our paychecks in the ballpark of our counterparts at other companies with higher hourly rates.
Nobody would vote for a all-around concessionary contract in this climate.

Confessing my ignorance - what makes up soft pay?

I believe (some one feel free to correct me please) is the money that you are guaranteed to make for the month. For example at TSA we are guaranteed 75 hours a month. That is your soft money. You may get more credit time than that, you may get premium pay but you know that if you are working that you will get paid atleast 75 hrs. Hopefully someone can sharp shoot this and clean up the edges around it.
Was there talk of getting FOs in year 1 to make 40 something an hour?

Nope no pay raises they say our pay rates are competitive. Soft pay are credits you get beyond actual flying time. Things such as the minimum day and cancelation pay. If the proposals were implimented it would cost me 10-20 hours a month. Oh and for you new guys they want to gut the reserve rules and give you 3 golden days a year instead of a month. Very unlikely anyone here will vote for a pay cut. We aren't that stupid. This ain't Gojetzz, much to their dismay. Hopefully cooler and smarter heads will prevail at the GO and they will sit down with our negotiators and put together a good contract soon. If they persist in a ridiculous confrontation with the pilots then the trickle of lateral moves out of here will become a flood.

May I ask how many credits on average you're getting a month?
