So TSA is emailing me (I guess from AirlineApps) about an interview. Does TSA have a training agreement? Do you get paid during training? Do they pay for hotels during training? Do you have to resign from your current airline? Any info greatly appreciated. NOT looking to jump into TSA after the last 121 experience without knowing all I can.
Also, any interview gouge would be interesting. Maybe potentially useful Thanks!

Q: Training agreement?
A: No, at least not for the last 10 years!
Q: Paid during training?
A: Yes, dont quote me but I think it might be @ 60 hrs. a mo @ year one pay maybe someone can chime in, but yes you are paid..
Q: Hotel during training?
A: Yes, believe its double occ. at the PT Hotel across from Lambert, free shuttle to/from the school house and FS. Not my favorite but the have a free breakfast and 3 drink happy hour in the evening to wind down... I think the PT is mostly a crew hotel these days
Q: Do you have to resign from your current airline?
A: I dont think so, TWA/AA furloughs in the past... if you are a furloughed pilot you should have no problem getting hired, although I know we have had a couple not make it through training... dont know the situations but its still a checkride and you still have to study and be respectful to the examiner even if you have flown an md or 727.
This place has dramaticly changed in recent years. The DO brought a respectful additude and an open door policy, a year later we had a contract and many other operational improvements... Im not sayin this place is heaven, its just not the hell it once was and you might find that its actually a good collection of people working togeather
You dont need Gouge, post questions here to answer...
Good luck!

Thanks for answering my questions, one that I forgot (duh!) is what are the TSA bases now? Still STL and RIC? Or has it changed in the last few years with new flying?
Thanks again!
