So you think you are the only person who has paid your dues in this business? You need a big crying towel. Let me give you a clue, nobody cares. This is a bottom line business. All the regionals are in a dog eat dog market for these contracts and cost rules. I've worked in the regional industry for 16 years. All of the regionals that were decent places to work are gone except Air Wisconsin, and their future is in doubt after their currrent contracts with Airways are up.
Bit of advice. If you listen to your "peers" you will never end up at a regional because I can give you horror stories about every one. Man up, get the interview and go for the first opportunity you get. If you are such a passive personality that you can't go someplace, interview, and make your own decisions about the company based on the interview then we don't want you here anyway. From what you've said, you might think about getting an accounting degree or doing something else, because you don't have the fortitude to survive in the rat race known as the regional airline industry.
Best of luck to you.

He wasn't saying he "paid his dues" that's just want Garrod... er... FlyingKat decided to insert on his own... play on words, really. Not trying to fight someone elses battle here, but really guys? Great input from a bunch of waterskier's (extreme sarcasm).

Was wondering if any recent new hires could offer up some info on training length, schedule and structure...
Thanks

Indoc is a couple of weeks, then systems was 3 weeks. You have a test at the end of Indoc and Systems. Then 3 days of Systems integration along with 3 days of GFS. Then 8 sim sessions plus a checkride, although they were giving more if needed (class before us had a guy who had 14 sims before he was cut loose). Oral was scheduled sometime between the end of GFS and Sim 1. My class started Jan 7 and most were finished by the first week of March. They moved us through very quick with only a couple of days between GFS, oral, and Sim 1. Some have been taking longer due to sim availability. Sims time is pretty hard to come by right now because of all the newhire training and ATP training for current FOs. I know the company was looking at using PHX and IAH sims in addition to STL. I heard they looking into sims in Europe as well. We need every FO we can get so I know they are trying to move everyone through as quickly as possible.

BTW, there is a NEW footprint for the groundschools. What FlyingKat said above is the old, but I couldn't squeeze out anymore details from our (FlyingKat and I) instructor at TSA... He just told me it's a new footprint, and it's mostly in the GFS.

Oh yes. The sim and training facility are IN STL. Depending what slot you get for the sim, you'll have either 2-3 days off, or 1-2 days off. Now, like I mentioned above... the footprint (program layout) HAS changed, but it's mostly from the ground training to GFS (ground flight sim) to oral... Maybe 'Kat has an actual layout, but that footprint change is current info as of a week ago... take that FWIW.

I know they are trying to move guys through as quickly as possible, but I heard sim time is becoming an issue and some are waiting a couple of weeks between ground school and sim. As Prop pointed out, there have been discussions about making changes to the ground school training. The guys I have talked to just hit the line and started in Feb and March, although I have not heard anything officially. But to be honest they are keeping us so busy right now its hard to keep up with this stuff as things are changing a lot around here, mostly for the better. I blocked 95 hours last month and am getting paid for 125 if that tells you anything.

I've herd from a few people that Trans States union and PDT union guys have been in talks about something. Have you guys heard anything like this over there? No idea what they are talking about though. I don't think it's about the US Express regional commity though.
