If you're not on reserve status for the day then you can't volunteer for airport reserve. Of course if you're a build up line holder with reserve days you can take AR on those days. But why would you want to willingly be on reserve on your days off? Life is too short

He wants to drop that trip, but then do airport reserve for those 2 days. Now he gets paid more because 2 days of airport reserve pays 10 hours and he gets a bonus night at home assuming he lives in base.

I've tried this. The answer was No. I even tried trading a two day with someone who already HAD AR. They said no to that too.
